Bradley basketball's Theron Wilson is filling Michael Jordan's shoes—almost literally
by Trib writer John Mullin

I didn't know Theron is a collector of vintage Nike Jordan shoes.

Wilson is just one model short of having the complete collection of Jordan shoes, from the original Air Jordans.
"I'm definitely the Jordan 'king' around here," Wilson says with some certainty and a laugh. "My teammates tell me that if I'd sell all my Jordans, I could get myself a nice car."

Those on facebook might have seen Theron Wilson showing off his favorite Jordans in the David Collins filmed video, "Bathin' Jumpmanz", which features TW sitting in a bathtub filled to the top with his Js. It's funny.

As a Bradley fan who follows Illinois, I can't help but think Theron Wilson would have really helped Illinois this year. (Don't get me wrong, I'm very glad he ended up at Bradley.) Obviously, he's a great player who would help almost any team, but I think he would have particularly helped the Illini. After Illinois managed to get to the line seven times in their latest effort I checked the numbers: Theron has been to the line 218 times. No one on Illinois has shot 70 and the entire team is at 380.

Curiously, the first Theron Wilson link that comes up on Google is to an Illini fan site two years ago. Several people seemed to be of the opinion that he would be just what they needed--I think they were right.

By the way, does anybody recall who made offers to Theron besides Bradley?

.. well a 11/2007 article mentioned that TW had 45 pairs before BU.

I'd guess that sometimes things like those snowball. Once family knows what gift you like most, you get more.
