Purdue up 16-6 with 13min to go in the 1st. Purdue has dominated every second of this game. I'm not sure UNI has even had a pass into the post yet. Let's hope UNI shows up to represent the MVC and make it a game.
 
Game and 1/2 to go, but if this is the Valley Champion and tournament winner, they are doing much for our prestige.
Oh-Oh 20-13 and panthers have the ball.
 
The announcers just said that UNI was having a tough time getting their shots off against Purdue's big guards. Yeah..... that would be nice. Im just kidding. But not to hijack the thread. This is going to be a tough one for UNI. Hope they win to make the Valley look good.
 
Kudos to UNI for sticking with it. CBS just switched back for me. Let's hope they overcome the last 4 points in 17sec to play!
 
And Purdue has it won. UNI made some key 3's at the end but a couple crucial charges hurt their momentum. Good game overall though, about all you can ask for.

A good effort by UNI. It was close enough that it still shows the "little guys" can play with the "big boys". But the fact that UNI did not win will probably not be enough for the BCS bunch to change their minds about taking more mid-majors into the tournament in the future.
 
Norther IA. did the Valley proud. Like Butler they started slow and just could not climb all the way up and over the mountain.
Both teams, N IA and Butler, return almost every significant player and should be very good next year.

I am excited about all the Mid Major opportunities next year including the local club.
Just win baby and THEY will not be able to ignore us!

This does seem to be a rebuilding or down year for the mid's. I do think the mids (including us!) will do a lot more winning next year with the greater experience. I think that since one of the best mids, Butler, is mostly freshmen, it was just not a good year for us, and there are better teams than us. Next year the tide will start turning again!
 
I caught just a little of the game and I saw UNI get whistled for a foul when it was the UNI player on inside position.....it should have been over the back on purdue....but it was the other way....there were a few others too..I wasn't shocked....but sure is a difficult road to hoe for a mid-major these days.....wow
