Gonzaga - W Kentucky

I know my local tv won't leave Duke, I am watching on Channelsurfing and the picture is GREAT!

I am amazed at how many times someone has been fouled shooting a 3 pt shot.

Gonzaga holds a small lead with about 4 to go.

What a heart breaker. The WKU kid hit the big three and the Zag takes it right down for the little floater off the glass. I guess this is what it is all about.
Too bad a mid-major had to loose. No getting around it in this game.

W. Kentucky got screwed. The coach clearly was calling a timeout to set up the defense right after they made the shot to tie it, but didn't get it. I thought they would actually match up better against UNC than Gonzaga, but we'll see.

Definately a great game, and what an NCAA Tournament game should be! At least we knew a "mid-major" would be guranteed a trip to the Sweet 16.

Who knows. With Gonzaga flying slightly under the radar again, maybe this will be the year they finally make a Final Four. But they have a tall order next week against UNC.

I wonder how many markets the Gonzaga - W KY was on. I had the Duke - TX game out here. I guess the network believes that the mid-majors cannot recieve the ratings that the big guys do. Though the Duke team would probably be hard to argue against I wonder what the broadcast rules are for the NCAA. I would have watched and di watch, thanks to the stream either game game regardless.

Even though there are so many Duke haters, there are also many Duke (and Texas) fans and it clearly would have better overall ratings. As you know, CBS streams all of the first and second round games online for free. Since many games are at the same time, this helps fix the conflict. Until CBS de-monopolizes the tourney, these conflicts will happen and someone will always be upset.

Also, at least here in Peoria and in Springfield, they switched back to the last few minutes of the Gonzaga game, and we could see the end. It just sucks that they both ended about the same time. CBS does its best to give us the best of both, but it is impossible to do. That is where March Madness On Demand comes in handy.

Ditto here in Chicago. CBS was flipping back and forth between the two games.

Gonzaga has the best starting five in the tourney. With a little help from their bench, they will beat UNC.

Zags and Illinois just signed a 4 year deal, home and home and 2 neutral sites in Seattle and Chicago.

2009 - at the United Center
2010 - at Seattle
2011 - at Champaign
2012 - at Spokane (on Gonzaga's home court)

This is the type of thing we need to aim for.

I agree that BU doesn't have the drawing power.

These high-profile schools, who get TV for most of their games, look at schools like Bradley and the rest of the MVC as comparable to games they can simply "buy" from other midmajors. Why should they sign a home-and-home when they can just buy a home game, and usually a win?
