BBrave---I agree but generally JUCO post men are totally overvalued and overrrecruited during the late signing period. It's tough to find one worth his salt--although I wouldn't be against it.

I know, and I agree. I'm not looking for the next Olajuwon here, and I can't believe I am saying this (gulp), but even a Matt Salley-type would be a solid insurance policy in case AT continues to flop, WE isn't fully back, or JP has some growing pains. Defense, rebounding, and finishing around the basket shouldn't be that hard to find. Heck, defense and rebounding is really all the insurance I think we would need.

I trust the staff to find a player that best suits this team, if DSE comes to BU it would be great for him to redshirt .

Amen BBrave and Tornado. I still want JL to try and Im sure he will. I know alot of fans were down on Matt Salley but I actually appreciated him. His toughness and 7 rpg would certainly help bigtime.

I'm :? here. Most of you guys are worring about the 5. I think we should be more concern with who is going to replace TW at the 4. We got some 5's coming back along with JP but who is our 4. TB has shown us some things this year but I am not sure at this point he is the answer and if not him who.:?

Theron Wilson is replaceable. What he gave us defensively at the 4 can be replaced by a number of guys collectively if not just by TB, and what he gave us offensively should be easily replaceable by Andrew Warren, and hopefully a healthy Will Egolf.

CIT Team Talent vs BU

CIT Team Talent vs BU

The one thing I like about post season tourneys like the CIT / CBI is that we get to see and play teams that we otherwise would not get on our schedule! Watching OU and ODU in particular I was really impressed with the physical stature of their team rosters especially compared to BU. I went out to the NCAA to see what OU and ODU's recruiting budgets were and was suprised to see OU booked less than $30K on recruiting - ODU was up around $100K - I don't know what BU spends but I don't see too many studs like I saw on OU and ODU. Now however you cut it - we beat OU and had we hit a couple of threes or got the foul line like we do in 'normal' games we would have won the CIT at home! But I wouldn't give you odds that we could beat either of those teams on the road or on a neutral court! And if we played each 10 games in Carver I don't think we could beat either more than 3 out of 10 times - just my opinion!

Somebody suggested it - we need some beef and strength on this team - another guard is not what is going to get us back to the NCAA! And quite frankly I don't care where in the world they come from - as long as they come!

Sorry Washington fans!

I think we have many options here.......and all would be fine...:

1. Get another guard that can shoot and get to the rim....DSE
2. Get a Juco big that can bang and get some boards.
3. Get a 4 year recruit that is a big that has some of that Potential....take a chance
4. Leave it for another year.
5. I would even like to see another Taylor Brown type of player.

We are fine inside next year with SS and WE. JP will contribute and could even see some time at the 4. MK is a wild card..if he can play the 4 and play outside, that would create some trouble for others defense.

I would just love to see a lineup something like this:

SM or EM 6'0 or so
AW or DD 6'3 or so
TB or CR 6'6" yeh Chris needs to grow a couple inches :)
WE or MK 6'8"
SS or JP 6'9"

imho there's no reason the coaching staff cannot evaluate what our bigs can do in the 4 and 5 spots, further (realistically) develop what they can do, and develop the team's system that uses their strengths (i.e do not expect them to be all over, setting so many high screens. Give them a limited area to play, and play big.)
I think it would be a travesty to waste CR's athleticism guarding other bigger players, just put our bigs in a position to succeed.

I totally agree. I also think Roberts has the potential to be as good as Wilson.

We need to recruit China. They've got some giants over there, especially where Yow comes from.

Chinese players don't play in college. They go straight to the pros or they stay in China. The Chinese government doesn't benefit from a guy coming over here and playing at BU.

Unfortunately, I don't think BU has the recruiting budget to recruit internationally. :(

recruits at the ODU game......I was thinking I saw a couple there.......was that Wilkins with Flash? maybe someone already mentioned this?

Here's what I would do:

1. Get DSE
2. Get a big man that can have a defensive presence and can move his feet.
3. Bank it for the loaded 2010 class

As a side note that might effect what we do - Warren is back in the boot. Not sure what happened there. I know he was playing in practice for a few weeks at least, but nothing else. Has anyone else heard anything about it?

Come on April fools day was yesterday. Don't mess with me.
