Eureka's Prosser named Pantagraph Area Boys Player of the Year
Nice article on JP in the Bloomington Pantgraph.
On his signing with Bradley.....
???I won??™t have to live at home anymore,??? he said, smiling.
His mother, Jill, won??™t be far away. She heads the hospice program at Peoria??™s Methodist Medical Center, so ???He??™ll be just up the hill,??? she said.
Jill Prosser is a loyal and, on occasion, vocal supporter of her basketball playing children. Daughter Chelsea is a 6-2 freshman at Missouri-St. Louis and 6-4 son Josh is a sophomore at Eureka.
Mom was especially sensitive this year to watching opponents gang up on Jordan.
???They??™re pulling his jersey and shoving him,??? she said. ???There is a breaking point, and I??™m like, ???OK, that??™s it.??™ ???
Eureka coach Tim Meiss saw it as well, and marveled at how Prosser handled the attention.
???If he was frustrated, he never showed it,??? Meiss said. ???If guys were taking away his cuts or pushing or shoving, he just kept working. I never saw him quit.???
To quit would be an insult to the game. It is not the Prosser way. His father, a teacher at Midwest Central High School, played at Eureka College and has coached for 30 years.
