I predict Bradley to win the Valley any followers?

Yeah, I know its a long shot, but JL has over produced each season. I think we will get picked 3rd and win the conference. The kids we have returning are tough, add andrew to the mix with the other players coming in and the valley will be surprised.

lets see where everybody else picks

How do you figure that "JL has overproduced each season"...

We were picked 2nd in the Valley last year (07-08 )...that didn't happen.

I think BU will be picked 4th in the preseason vote. And I agree with your pick to win the Valley.

we all know it didn't happen, but we also have discussed the reasons ad nauseum...there were injuries and off the court issues - but in the end, Bradley finished strong and almost won the CBI, finishing with 21 wins.
I know we finished the league 9-9 but we might have been the 2nd best team had we remained healthy.

Almost every reputable person who gave a preseason prediction for 08-09 had both Creighton and ISU ahead of us, and most also had SIU & Drake ahead of BU.
the official MVC Media preseason poll had us 5th
http://www.mvc-sports.com/ViewArticle.dbml?SPSID=36371&SPID=2901&DB_OEM_ID=7600&ATCLID=1609767

and yet, again...Bradley did better than that......not a ton better, but still, battling injuries and losses, we finished only a single game out of 3rd - and probably would have been 2nd with any luck in regards to injuries at all.

We all want to do even better yet, but I am proud of the hard work and improvement that helped our guys to be pretty respectable this year.

Please substantiate this statement. I believe if you compare preseason predictions with eventual finish, we have 'overproduced' once in 7 years. I love the optimism, but don't try to justify it with statements that are completely false.

My prediction is that we'll be a much stronger deeper team that will compete for the MVC tourney title come March! This team has too many questions marks to start the season at the 4-5 position for me to pick us to finish 1st in the Valley next year. UNI will be the overwhelming favorite and should be.

I like our players but with WE coming back from MAJOR surgery and the 4 spot either being under sized or a freshmen manning the position I'd like to scale back my optimism to finishing 3rd or 4th.

If JP and WE can play 20+ minutes from the get go and AT can contribute solid minutes then I will reevaluate my prediction.

I predict though if everything we believe will happen the following year we should win the MVC.

I say 2nd in regular season, with a legitimate chance to win the conference tournament... If I had to bet today, I'd say 2nd in regular season, runner's up in the tournament. Prove me wrong, Braves. Prove me wrong. As of right now I'd guess.. Creighton/Bradley/SIU/UNI/isu top five regular season standings.. I think those projections are a total waste of time, but hey, i'm procrastinating from homework right now.

I HOPE you are correct... personally I'm getting tired of 4-5-6th place. I'm sure JL is also. Go BU.

Probably the best post of the bunch. I can't imagine when Jim Les took over he would have thought he would be under .500 in the league and never come close to a league title in seven years.

He is a competitor. I would think he believes he has to and can do better.

If Warren comes back at 100% I don't see how BU CANNOT be much stronger and deeper than last year. We are only suffering one major loss (Wilson), IMO. And Warren should easily fill that role. Think about it -- Maniscalco, McCain, Dunson, Warren all running the show with Roberts, Egolf (hopefully), and Singh continuing to fill their roles. And Roberts could (and I think WILL) have a break-out year.

Add the newcomers, better outside shooting and, hopefully, someone unexpected stepping up big and next year's team BETTER be better. I'm confident in saying that BU should have the most talented team in the MVC. If we stay relatively healthy I think we have a very good chance to win the MVC (and I think UNI will be this year's Drake).

B4L I have to disagree but I hope you are right. I'm a huge AW fan and I believe he will make an impact but we still will not have an impact guy that I know of at the 4-5 position to start the season. TB is undersized, JP/MK are freshmen, JP is coming from a serious injury, SS is SS and AT is a huge ??????

We will have great guard play no doubt but to say UNI is this year's Drake when they are returning a bunch of the same players is ludicrous.

The team is not set for next year yet, but I predict we are picked 3rd and we finish 2nd or 3rd behind UNI and maybe Creighton.

Last year our new guys had to provide major minutes per game.
DD 26.8
CR 25.9
EM 25.0
DN 12.2
TB 11.5
TOTAL 101.5

Next year I bet the 3 guys signed already add up to 30 or less MPG. I think next year we have a better chance of starting better. All the major players already know the system. We will look and act more like a veteran team even though we will still be pretty young on average.

The Valley will be better but so will we. Maybe luck will go our way next year. I would say we are due a little.

Lets get another real good player signed and see if we all need to change our picks.

4th!

4th!

I think InSU, WSU, SIU and even MSU will be taking their fair share of wins next year making the 2009-10 season very challenging for BU and the rest of the league! I would be extremely happy if we finish 4th with 10 wins! However, anything could happen, look at Drake in 2008! UNI and CU are going to have add some depth and work hard to retain their top spots - my outside favorite for next year is WSU!

I agree that WSU will be a force to be reckoned with next year. They'll probably go 9-0 at home...they won their final 7 league games at home this year including beating the top 3 teams in the league, and they return nearly everyone next season. I would like to know why many here do not seem to see WSU as a serious contender next year.

Im with you Tulsa. The Shox will be very tough to beat next year.
