Just wanted to say a quick thanks to Da Coach for inviting me and my son to the banquet tonight! It was great to meet Da Coach and MacabreMob in person. We really enjoyed everything and my son had a great time getting all the players to sign his program.

I thought the banquet was a very nice event (as always).

Dave Snell does a great job. The video was very good (thankfully they didn't play the WHOLE video of the MVC Shuffle ;) ).

Nice to meet Shaunguth and his son. Also had good company with Da Coach, his wife and her sister.

I'll let someone else post the awards that went out. I can't remember them all.

Always enjoy listening to the young men. Theron was very entertaining. :D

Gonna miss all the seniors - B-Lav, DC and T! Best wishes in life to them - come back and visit us!!!

Here are the annual awards from tonight's banquet-

A.J. Robertson Lifetime Achievement Award- went to former BU player Gene Morse.
Last year's award went to his teammate Judge Joe Billy McDade.

Karl Watson Academic Award- went to Dodie Dunson- He has done great academically at Bradley, and registered a 3.7 GPA for the last semester. Congratulations Dodie. Apparently he and the others on this team work very hard at achieving success in the classroom, and they set a record for team GPA this year.

Braves Club Award for community involvement and leadership- went to Sam Maniscalco.

Most Improved Player- Chris Roberts- improvement was defined as improvement from last season, or improvement as this season preogressed.

Best Defensive Player- Theron Wilson

Most Valuable Player- Theron Wilson

The seniors all did a great job with speeches, and Dave Snell did his usual great job as emcee.

Each of the 3 departing seniors, Brian Lavin, David Collins, and Theron wilson, were presented with their framed jerseys.

By the way, a couple other tidbits from tonight's banquet--

Andrew Warren looked healthy, and was not wearing his boot. He said he had a slight setback, but is getting better, and doesn't expect any problems when he returns next fall.

Will Egolf is progressing well. He was just checked by the team orthopedist and cleared to begin running activities.

All the players were at the banquet, except Darian Norris. Several of the players' parents were there, too. The biggest ovations were for the 3 departing seniors, but the next biggest ovation was when Chris Roberts was recognized for the best shot of the year, and when the video showed slow-mo replays of his 70+ foot shot that won the Oakland game.
Bradley fans will never get tired of seeing that, and Chris will always be a cult-hero among Bradley fans.

DC...One thing I noticed was how genuinely excited the players were when Dodie received the Academic Award. Dodie has a very engaging personality, so it's very, very easy to like the young man, but I just sensed a lot of respect from the players as they rose to their feet to salute his achievement. :)

If I recall DD had a history of learning problems (dyslexia) that no one ever helped him to cope with. The fact that he could accomplish this is a great testament to both the young man and the university for providing a structure that allowed him to flourish.

Congrats DD, and kudos BU! :) (I sense a good story here;) .............. PJS, are you listening?)

I don't want to see AW running shooting or doing anything but be in a plastic bubble until at least September.... no more setbacks!!!

I know what you are saying but in order for us to get to the level we need AW to do all that he can during the off-season to improve his game. The bubble treatment just will not do! I will say when he is tired towards the end of a scrimage and work-out he should then just do solo drills to help prevent any injuries. MOst injuries in basketball and most sports tend to happen towards the end of your work-out time when you are tired and not really thinking. I have heard numerous skiers say the blew out their knee on their last run of the day!:-o

Not trying to be a jerk or anything, but if you think about I'd say that when a skier blows out his knee the vast majority would not go on another run - so probably almost all of them occur on the last run of the day! ;)

That said I understand the point you were making and fatigue definitely plays a roll in making you more vulnerable to injury.
