Candidate for newAD

Regardless of where he is from, Mark Sandy appears to be an outstanding potential candidate for our AD job. His resume is very impressive and he seems to have the kind of qualifications we should be looking for. Lets hope he is typical of the candidates BU seeks.

has anyone answered the question yet of how many AD's or interim AD's worked under JG in her 6 years at EKU?
I did a little digging when I saw that question and I have the answer....I think you'd have to go back 1/2 century to find the same number of people in the AD position at BU.

The baseball coach does not seem to be doing very good, I would hope the board of trustees would have a say in the AD job hiring. This is a very important position and it needs to be done right the first time.

4 in her 6 years. Only one left in apparent disagreement, Chip Smith who has gone on to make a fortune in training equipment.

His replacement was John Shafer, who recently hired at SEMO to clean up the mess there. He resigned after just a few months citing health reasons.

There was an interim for a year, Dr. Robert "Jake" Bell.

And then Sandy has been in place since.

I'm surprised that such a big change has not been communicated to the alumni in a formal e-mail. We do receive all types of emails! I'd guess that this is way to hard to spin. They could spin it with the softball team's success.:-o

SFP, it is not really policy to send out staffing changes by email, I don't think. I think one went out when PG was selected, but other than that, I don't recall another alumni blast email that simply mentioned faculty / staff changes. I could be wrong.

btw-- several people who have sent e mails to KK have received already, very nice thankful responses. He is a very classy guy......

AD is the second most visible if not the most visible administrative position in the school. The position is not a faculty one. When the board was looking for a new prez we all received an email saying the search was on.

The new AD will be a yes man to Glasser just like the new baseball coach. She went threw 5 AD's and ran off a good basketball coach Travis Ford at her last stop until she found yes men.
