UNI's Lucas O'Rear/Baseball

There was some talk that Lucas O'Rear might pursue a pro baseball career or transfer to another college
to play baseball since UNI has dropped baseball as a varsity sport. However, Lucas has told a blogger
"I’m coming back for sure, and I’m excited about that,” O’Rear said."

In other UNI news, they are still looking to fill two more schedule dates, and UNI coach Ben Jacobson is close to working out details on a new contract and extension.

Seriously? You don't think the team that will be picked #1 in the MVC won't win most of those games?

I see them beating Denver, DePaul, Iowa, Iowa State, North Dakota, and Wyoming. The only scheduled game they should be underdogs for is maybe Siena, and that is a winnable game, too.
In the Paradise Jam, it all depends on the matchups, but I see them beating DePaul easily, probably losing to Tennessee, and then beating St. Joseph's.

I think we may see at turnaround at DePaul like we did with ISU a couple years ago with their new coaching staff. Yes, I know Wainwright is still there but he is in a vulnerable position and must listen to his assistants, three experienced and basketball-knowledgeable coaches. Talent was never the issue at DePaul IMP and with Stovall, Walker, Wallace, and Koshwal there, I think they can do damage, especially before conference play.

Scout, from what you posted, I disagree. If your description is true, and I have no reason to doubt this, then Depaul will be in a bad situation with too many coaches telling the players what to do with no real leader. This sounds like a variation of the college of coaches concept that the Cubs used in the early 1960's.

They should get by N. Dakota, but I'm not sure about any of the others. Denver should contend for the Sun belt and the other teams are high major programs...
