FoxSports releases their final preseason Top 25 teams-

I hope they are right about Illinois picked at #18 in the country. But IMO, that's a little too high for a team that had double digit losses last year, struggled to score on some nights, and was eliminated in the first round of the NCAA tournament.

I expect UIUC (after a few weeks into the season) will be in and out of the top 10 and will be top 20 all season in the polls from those with the "learned opinion" (you know - those that buy ink by the barrel).

The day is coming closer when readers realize the drive-by media has an agenda and can be full of sheeyat at (most of the) times.

So it's pathetic to think rankings influence NCAA bids and seeds.

But it is what it is.

Hey let them and Oregon State be ranked as high as possible, if we lose? It looks better. If we win? It looks better. We want chances to prove we can hang with the big boys. This year is our chance.

And I wouldn't sleep on U of I. I know some here don't like Weber, and I question his recruiting, but I have never doubted his X's and O's...
