creighton writer previews the mvc-part 1

Re: his asssessment of Bradley- I am not sure it was very well researched. He picks BU 7th mostly because of their weakness in the center position. However, he says Prosser and Knezevic will back up Sam Singh at the forward spots. He never mentions getting Will Egolf back from a redshirt year, and Taylor Brown's improvement and his abilities at the forward position.

I'm ok with that. Bradley has been getting disrespected by Creighton players, media, and especially their fans for years...

Let them think BU won't be great so we can lie in the weeds...maybe that tune will change come the final regular season game when the team heads in to Omaha...then we'll see how they all feel about the Braves!

This is downright comical. and who exactly is the dominant force in CU's post? If memory serves, they were awful on the glass last season and shouldn't be much better this year. BU will be no worse than 5th, barring injuries

That's right, Creighton finished the season dead last in rebounding margin last year!

I have been on this board from almost the first day and everyone knows I have never done this before but here it is...........Bradley will win the MVC this year......save this post and beat me up when its over but I truly believe it.

Still under the radar... Right where I want us to be. Preseason projections mean nothing!;-)

I like us right where we are picked. Isn't 7th or 8th place where we were picked the season after our Sweet 16 run and we surprised some teams in the Valley thanks in part to this guy averyone, but a few of us, thought should transfer. Go JC. Go BU-it will be a top 4 and I really think we can contend along w/ 4 other teams. In fact after last season CU might prove they are very human. Wouldn't it be real funny if they played on Thursday night.

I'm pretty sure these are the predictions from the isu beatwriter.....

http://www.pantagraph.com/app/blogs/main/?p=4355
1. UNI
2. SIU
3. Illinois State
4. Creighton
5. Indiana State
6. Bradley
7. Wichita State
8. Missouri State
8. Drake
10. Evansville

All-conference:
Osiris Eldridge (ISU)
Tony Freeman (SIU)
Adam Koch (UNI)
Kwadzo Ahelegbe (UNI)
Jake Kelly (Indiana State)

Player of Year: Eldridge

Yet another "expert" picking Bradley in the bottom half of the Valley.

I'm absolutely shocked he picked SIU to finish 2nd in the conference (ahead of the mighty redbirds). I don't think SIU will be much better than they were last year.

I guess he's so good with predictions, he actually has Missouri State and Drake tied for 8th. Maybe he just couldn't decide what to do with either of them?

A lot of things have to break the right way, but this could happen. Everyone has to stay healthy and avoid key injuries and illnesses. Bradley lost several close games in the MVC last season, and with a healthy Andrew Warren, maybe they would have won those games. I see 12-6 being more likely than 6-12, but I try to stay away from predictions and just enjoy the games.:D

Let's hope he wrong, but I can't get too worked up over the writer's predictions. I'm sure some in the Valley will disagree when the JS comes out with theirs. I agree with DC, just sit back and enjoy the games.

I think the JS already put theirs out... I believe we were at #3.

We'll all find out how good we are come March. I care about this guys prediction as much as an another local PJS sports writer. There are a few things that make a good team great and there is no way to predict a few of them. Team chemistry goes a long way in college ball and from all considerations BU seems to be a on the right track. I like our chances and I'd bet that beat writer some hefty cash that we finish in the top 1/2 of the conference.
