BU-Lewis box score

Well, that was the announced attendance, there were probably 5500 people there due to a lot of no-shows.

Prosser, Dyricus, Eastman, Milos, TB, AT, and Will Egolf...all seven of them combine for a total of 500 career minutes (about half of what EM alone has and he's just a first game soph as well).

Thus, the frosh and sophs gave us HALF the minutes played today!!!
I think that's an awesome job by the youngsters..

wow I just noticed the big swing BU with 27 pts the first half and 41 pts the 2nd half. We need more than 30 each half easy against good teams. I have a feeling it'll be another offensively challenged team this year. Defense will be alright but the offense is just too much stuff going on. Need to implement the KISS method...keep it simple stupid...especially for the bigs...just have 'em camp out under there & see how it goes lol

Like the distribution of minutes a lot. Getting everyone time and getting through healthy is what's most important to me at this point.

I would of been in favor of this if we had 2 exhibition games but since this was the only one, Les should of played the starters more so that they could get in rhythm and shoot better. With the exception of Brown, the starters went 5 for 17 FG, 1 for 8 on 3's, 10 fouls, and 2 turnovers. I'm sure that won't be the starting lineup come Friday but it's not exactly a confidence booster heading into one of the toughest games of the season.

Gotta do it though. BU also had the scrimmage against DePaul and the trip to Brazil. One exhibition isn't ideal, but I don't think we're too bad off.

Gotta agree with you again! JL will have them ready for the Provo trip and I bet we only go 9 deep even thought Provo is at a high elevation. I expect to see AW play 30 plus minutes. About our O, I expect us to be much better then last just because of AW but add the fact we will be pressing a bit more with our depth at guard we can expect more steals and some easy baskets. Perhaps JL did not show case a few things in this one folks.

I just can't understand why 2500 people wouldn't want to get their first look at the biggest sports draw in town. I suppose most of them were much happier watching the Bears?

The weather and the fact it was Sunday are huge factors. People just have other things to do on whats probably the last nice day of the year for outside chores.

The NFL hurts also.

This team should only get better and better this year and peak in 2010-11 and 2011-12 with/without Wilkens.

If JW is as good as advertised, and sincere with his committment to BU, JL will be in good shape to deliver on his goal to bring BU BB back to the national scene.

Don't say that Dog:!: Hoping for more golf to be played;-)
Golf and BU BB, Can not get much better than that:biggrin: Maybe a Bear Win in between:roll:

Yeah, but I'm gathering you're not counting A-Dub?

He IS a starter.

The only guys who didn't distinguish themselves from the pack were the point guards. McCain got the T and Maniscalco shot the ball terribly and lost his man for wide open 3's very frequently.

If anything, DSE proved that he should be getting MORE minutes than what he did as he showed he can play both ends of the floor.

Also, what is the deal with Prosser? He's every bit as good as Sticks.

Finally, is Taylor in the doghouse again? He didn't play the last 10 or so minutes and I just couldn't figure out why.

By far the two that distinguished themselves from everyone else were Andrew and Taylor. They should be stone cold lead pipe LOCKS as starters on Friday.

JL, in this am's radio show, said the greatest compliment for DSE was he is a "gamer" Solid in practice, but even better in a game.

More interesting, was JL's mention of redshirting as something this program is now in a position to emphasize. (talking about BYU having many older players (like SS) that took their 2 year missions trip)

I've found it odd the lack of mentions about JP this pre-season. It might be that AT met whatever goals (i.e. weight) the coaches have been asking and have to reward that. You do not really need to be more than 3 deep at center

There's no need to rush JP. From what I hear he is still adjusting to the size and speed at this level. AT has a higher ceiling at this point than JP, and 2 more years of experience. If he's showing signs of reaching that ceiling, it's time to give him a real extended shot to show it.

So, do we redshirt two guys then?

I mean I don't see why we couldn't...I just would rather have Prosser available because we know what we'll get from Sam and you never know what you'll get to this point from Sticks.

Good question, I don't know. I want Sticks to get an extended look. From what I have heard JP is still adjusting, which is fine. It might be wise for us to have him there in case of an injury though like you said, as 2 of our 3 centers have had ACL's in the past.
