My Mea Culpa on Taylor Brown

Ampkill, I never thought TW had good ballhandling skills. He did have good shot from the 3 though and TB has yet shown that he can hit that shot. TB does a great job of hitting the mid-range.

If Brown is going to shoot the 3 like Wilson, I dont want him to show us any 3 pt shooting.

Wilson was 15-58 26% from 3 last year

He also had 95 TO's more 16 more then anyone else.

But I should not ignore his Junior year when he did make 28-68 a very respectible 41%.

Didnt JJ have a more drive to the basket game, with a nice mid range jump shot?

Keep in mind JJ came in to a very bad team his freshman year and was immediately annointed as "the man". He was given the freedom to "chuck 'em" and make mistakes. As I recall, he missed a lot and made many mistakes as well his first year. However, this also enabled him to get the jitters out early in his career and play with reckless abandon throughout the rest of his career. JJ was not a shooter, but WAS a scorer. He could drive, slash, and rebound and put in some garbage. I think TB has the potential to be like JJ in that he, too, does not appear to be a great shooter but he seems to have the scorers mentality. I think we will see him drive to the hoop with reckless abandon like JJ before his career is over. Consider me a Taylor Brown convert:) :)

I recall that Wilson was a bad 3 point shooter, and a terrible ball handler. I would have rather had Sam Singh bringing the ball up the floor than TW. I know it's a knock on TW, but just as he had deficiencies in some places, he really excelled in others. He was explosive off the dribble, so long as he only took 1 or 2 dribbles. He drew tons and tons of fouls because of the mismatch he created.

I don't like seeing TB taking 3 point shots, but if he can extend his game to the 16 or 17 foot jumper, he'll be pretty much impossible to guard. And his arms are really long. He plays like a much taller player. As long as he doesn't have more troubles off the court, and stays healthy, he will be a very special player for Bradley.
