Starting Lineup Vs. OkSt.

I would seriously doubt if we can go with a "4 guard" lineup versus OkSt. From the sounds of it we may struggle matching up with their bigs. Don't suppose there's any chance we go big with AW playing the "two" do you?

...maybe I've missed something, wasn't our starting line-up for the past two games "big?" I did miss the beginning of the Presbyterian game, but I thought Sam Maniscalco, Andrew Warren, Chris Roberts, Taylor Brown, and Will Egolf started? With a 6' 8" Milos Knesevic subbing for Taylor Brown...

Here's my fantasy lineup for a Thanksgiving day -

1. CR
2. MK
3. TB
4. WE
5. AT

That would be a big lineup with good players coming off the bench. I think we could get the ball up the court with that lineup and the defense would probably be a good zone defense. All those guys can pass and run. Just having fun, but I could see it.

Have a good Thanksgiving day. Go Braves :)

No. Are you saying Taylor Brown and Milos Knesevic are small guards? And that Andrew Warren has not been starting the 2 position?

Sorry, Solace I wasn't very clear in my post...I guess my question should have been: Do we start Sticks or Singh in addition to Egolf and TB at the frontline? AW would then be at the 2 with SM or another at the point. Really I guess I was just asking whether we need another "long" person on the court with our usual guys.

Oh okay. I know what you mean now, Doug. Sorry for my own misunderstanding.

To your actual question then, I don't think Oklahoma State is THAT much bigger than us with their starting frontcourt. It's briefly discussed in the official BU v. Ok.St. game thread, but I think AW, CR, and TB can match-up against their taller guards/forwards. Chris might give-up a few inches to whomever he's guarding, but his long arms and athletic ability should be able to make-up for it.

Ok st isn't big in the frontcourt, or even really in their starting lineup.

These three guys have started all their games:

Obi Muonelo - G - 6-5 (25 mpg)
James Anderson - G - 6-6 (33 mpg)
Marshall Moses - F - 6-7 (29 mpg)

Three other guys have started games:
Matt Pilgrim - F - 6-8 (2 games, 14 mpg)
Keiton Page - G - 5-9 (2 games, 31 mpg)
Ray Penn - G - 5-9 (3 games, 28 mpg)
Fred Gulley - G - 6-2 (1 game, 22 mpg)

Only one other guy plays more than just a few minutes per game:
Roger Franklin - F - 6-5 (12 mpg)

Based on minutes played and starts it looks like Ok St's starting lineup could be:
Keiton Page - 5-9
Ray Penn - 5-9
Obi Muonelo - 6-5
James Anderson - 6-6
Marshall Moses - 6-7

They do have 3 6-10, 6-11 type guys who apparently never play more than a couple of minutes at a time.

I think a lineup of:
SM 6-0
AW 6-5
CR 6-4
TB 6-7
WE 6-9
will be able to compete just fine from a size advantage.

And I think a "3 bigs" lineup could be a total disaster against this team that based soley on the size of it's players and their lack of 3-shooting is probably a big time quickness and slashing team.

OSU is a slashing let's get to the line type of team that also hits the glass on both ends of the floor. If we can hit our shot early and pull them out to guard us beyond the 3 point line we should be able to do some damage. I also expect us to play some zone and make them shoot 3s.

SM, AW, CR, TB, WE IMO should be starting this game. OSU does have an athletic team that like to go up and down the court and go man2man. I also expect to see a lot of EM. If we limit our turnovers and keep them from getting easy baskets we have a really good chance. If they are able to convert on turnovers and go through our D like a NY subway turnstile during rush hour, we are toast.

This game will be coaching at its best IMO....can JL make adjustments as needed ? Do we make them match us or do we let them dictate the game?

I agree....some zone and make em do what they aren't real good at.

Crash the boards....you CAN'T let a poor shooting team get second chances...you just can't.

Just about 12 hours until liftoff for Vegas.......must get some sleep. 5am comes pretty soon..
