DSE development

Simms Edwards has the biggest tool any freshman can have. He is physically put together. Similar to Carmichael for ISU these guys are gonna have basketball problems. They wont have physical problems which is huge in quick development.

carmichael looks like he is 30

I want DSE to start. He was the difference maker tonight and I see no reason to not see him as a starter. When he was in things happened positively. He has great basketball instincts. I like the combo of him and SM on the floor at the same time. For this I can get a bit shorter.

I was about to post the same thing SFP! IMO DSE needs to improve his defense, but we could say that about the entire team.

I like his energy and aggressiveness....I don't like him shooting outside of 15 feet on a regular basis however.
His shooting is only going to get better and he has made some clutch 3"s for us this season, once he starts consistently making 3 pointers he will be unstoppable, his shot looked good last night.

I wonder how much development we would be seeing from DSE if DD had not gotten hurt?

Best thing about DSE is he is aggressive and second best thing is he is only a freshman.

Thanks DC! I will check it out later.

I look forward to seeing DSE next year driving and either going hard to the basket (like Will Franklin), or kicking out to DD who doesn't need much time to shoot the 3-ball.
DD showed that he can drive to the hoop too, so we should be getting to the line more next year and having easier 3 point attempts!

I was pleased with DSE playing well in a pressure-packed game. He hit a couple big free throws down the stretch and drove to the hoop to draw contact whenever he could. He should work on his 10-foot pull-up shot over the summer - will be an easy deuce with his hops.

I am totally bummed today, but at least I look forward to the next couple seasons with DSE and TB as rising young stars.

He has to improve his shot. That is a big minus for him right now. He does have some great upside though

With the current structure of our team, I personally think he's best suited to come off the bench right now. We just don't have anyone else that can give us what he gives us at a moment's notice.

I would have played him a bit more last night because at one point our starters looked like they were going backwards including SM. He brings a certain demeanor to this club. SM brings the heart this kid brings I'll win at any cost mentality! Start him and bench someone until they can bring a little more spark consistently. I want the attitude as much as possible from the tip off, beginning of the 2nd half and onward!

Without this kid last night, we wouldn't have even been in the game IMO.
Aside from SM, he wants to be the go-to-guy, which bodes well for us in the future.
His shot is looking better and better - just needs to work on that 10 ft pull-up shot that is tough to defend.
Definitely the biggest positive of the year for BU.

I would agree. I think his best ability or aspect is his aggressiveness.

I like his role on the team the way it is. I think he has grown throughout the year and is doing well.

He still needs some development and growth though.

Compared to who? The kid can play ball and has better court vision then anyone else on the floor. He was even hitting the long 3s last night. He's as ready to start as any of our starters and plays fearlessly.
