Nightmare vs. Monster

Well, here's a discussion for the ISU fans that like to call Dinma Odiakosa the "Nigerian Nightmare"...

guess who's coming to visit??

ISU's BracketBuster opponent is Morehead State, and their best player might just give the Redbirds nightmares...
he's Kenneth Faried, who always seems to step up in big games, and who is called in this article a "Midmajor Monster"...
http://www.allkyhoops.com/2010/02/kenneth-faried-is-mid-major-monster.html

Dinma has recently been a scoring and rebounding machine, leading the Redbirds in at least one of those categories in 11 of the last 12 games.
But Kenneth Faried may just be a real challenge...averaging 17.2 ppg, 13.4 rebounds per game (14.6 in conference games)...and 19 double doubles this season! Faried has led his team in rebounding in 26 of 27 games this seaosn, and has also led them in scoring in 15 games.
Faried has season highs of 26 pts and 21 rebounds.
Might just be a decent match up...

This should be a great matchup...Faried was a load last year when we played them...

The game will be on Redbird All-Access... Sometimes this makes in to channelsurfing.net, but the Media Relations Dept. tries it's best to use a "reflector" and block channelsurfing from streaming the game for free...

Missouri State got the ESPN nationally televised game even tho they are 3 games behind ISU in the standings

Birds win 71-62.

Faried vs. The Nightmare

Faried: 13 points, 8 boards, 2 steals, 1 block, 34 minutes

Nightmare: 10 points, 11 boards, 2 blocks, 1 steal, 32 minutes

Nightmare helps his team to a 9-point win. Faried missed 6 FT's. Faried is a fine player but today he met the Nightmare and was held to 4 points below his avg and 5 rebounds below his average.
