BU recruit- class of 2011- Justin Gant

I talked to an AAU coach from Indiana (who happened to play with Larry Bird at Indiana St) and he told me that people are all over Gant. About half the MVC and now some of the Big 10 are after him. He even got updates on Gant's state tournament game while we were playing 3-card poker. I guess Gant's team lost and he only had 2 points (probably was double and triple-teamed all night). Sounds like quite the hot commodity!

I've had the chance to meet Justin twice and have been very impressed with him. Both times he seemed to have a genuine interest in Bradley and I really hope we stay after him. He is long and lean with a nice shot, but seems more like a 4 than a 5 from what I have seen.

Think Will Egolf rather than Kenny Lawson.

Justin Gant is close to making a decision...
He has an offer from Bradley that is prominently listed first.....FWIW
"Terre Haute North senior-to-be Justin Gant..received an offer just last week
from Creighton.
Gant is a versatile 6-8 post player ... and has offers from Bradley, Creighton,
Duquesne, Evansville, Indiana State, Miami (Ohio), Rice, Saint Louis, Southern
Illinois, William & Mary and Wright State.
..Northern Iowa, Notre Dame and Ball State have also showed recent interest."

May be a nice complement to JP in 2011.
Sounds too good to be true, especially with peaked interest from bigger schools, but JL has gotten some gems the last couple years.

I hope Bradley hasn't fallen off the map after their non-stellar records the past few years to follow up the Sweet-16 season.

I have a friend who has a little inside info on this kid. He says the family is still hoping for an offer from a bigger school (non-midmajor).

This is almost always the case with recruits, and you can't blame them. I think before his senior year is over, he could get offers from some majors. But he still might be better off at a midmajor for immediate playing time and development.

the Hoosiers are desperate, surely they'll offer.........
..but maybe Gant, like just about every other kid in Indiana, seems now more willing to play for Butler than for the Hoosiers.
