Darian Norris had a good season at Salt Lake City Community College and yesterday committed to University of San Diego.

Note that the article says Darian "signed with Bradley University in Indiana out of high school". ;-)

He chose University of San Diego over Santa Clara, Portland State, Nevada, Southern Utah and San Diego State. He played in all 32 games for Salt Lake CC and started 27 for the 24-8 SLCC team last season. He averaged 11.7 points per game and recorded 167 assists against 71 turnovers while averaging two steals per game.

Its amazing that when you run into people who have never been to the midwest...

Illinois and Indiana are interchangeable. And Iowa and Ohio are interchangeable. Just makes you laugh, I suppose... :-D

Well, my guess is that he is happier than he was at BU. I don't think he upgraded the way he thought he might; nor do I think he realized the PT he would have gotten this year. To my knowledge it wasn't a bitter end, and I hope he has a great career at San Diaaaago...German for....

I have heard that he committed to BU with the understanding that we had already signed a point guard in Eddren, and that he (Darian) would not be used here primarily as a point guard. From what we all saw, Darian did not appear to have the skills to play PG.
So I think he is better off where he is, and Bradley is better off with Dyricus and Jake, one of whom who we signed with the scholarship opening.

I also hope nothing but the best for Darian. He is a great kid, and I had a chance to meet his parents in Ft. Myers, and they are wonderful people and did a great job raising Darian!

seriously, this is exactly what I mean....if even the media do not know (nor obviously care) where Bradley is, how can some people say that we have so much to offer and it should be easy to recruit to Bradley -- it's a no brainer, someone needs to get the media straightened out...

So - just whose job it that?? It sure isn't the job of the basketball coaching staff nor players...isn't it the job of someone maybe higher up or in the MVC offices to try to do something to promote a little better understanding in the press of who Bradley is and where they are??

San Diego needs help and I hope Darian can provide it...
they were 11-21 and 3-11 in the WCC with an RPI befitting Evansville and a SOS befitting ISU.
Since Darian has just two years left, so the fact that USD's TOP FOUR players are all graduating likely appeals to him...
Only ONE returning player averages more than 5.4 ppg, and that guy has only one season left...so there'l be opportunities for Darian to get minutes right away.
Also - there are only 3 guards who return that average more than 1.7 ppg or 0.3 apg!

Just one year ago - San Diego had one of their all time greatest games and memorable moments...

I didn't know his parents live there! I lived in that area for 15 years and went to FGCU. Small world.
I was also Facebook friends with Darian for a few months last year.
Kool Kid - very likeable and I wish him the best! He really missed home from what I gathered.

Actually they still live in Las Vegas where Darian played high school basketbal. They were just in Ft. Myers for the 3 games of the basketball tournament, and to spend some time with Darian.
I believe his father is a police officer and his mother is a probation officer in Las Vegas.

I bet his parents really have some stories! A cop and a probation officer in LV, I'd bet Darian could never pull a fast one on his folks.

Best of luck Darian, from hot Alabama. I got the air conditioner on down here. Hope everything works out for DN. We could have used you this year.
