BU Asst Coach officially named

I think this is a great hire for the program. Someone with a lot of experience, defensive specialist, and a hard worker. Sounds like the type of guy I want. He has an impressive resume as far as defense goes at Army. If he can do that at BU we will be in good shape.

Agreed completely with everything you said here. I really hope he can give us what we need next year. IMO we are graduating the core of this current team next year and will fall off a bit the following year, so next year is a pretty big deal for the program I believe.

Agree completely! Sounds like a great hire, another step in the right direction!

WOW....looks like a good hire to me......and being from Illinois the winter weather should not be a problem either....Welcome to BU Jim! :D

I didn't mention it in my earlier post. So I'd like to say Welcome to Jim!

I am very excited to have you, you sound like a great addition. Great to have you at BU and good luck!

Jim Platt is the new assistant. Please someone poop on my post like you did this afternoon...

Also...I have never posted anything but positive thoughts on this hire...I really, really like it. But again, poop away on what I say. I don't donate enough to have an opinion or know someone who knows something I guess.

Nothing prophetic. Got a tip, posted it, had other sources that substantiated it, but the thought police weren't happy that they didn't break it. Not my fault. For folks who supposedly hate the regime in Washington and the thought control and baseless smearing they practice, I found it a bit hypocritical..especially since I thought it was a very good move for BU! What's the real agenda here?

This would have been deleted, except it may be better to respond so it reiterates what the rules are here.
If you have forgotten, or don't know, here they are-
http://bradleyfans.com/vb/showthread.php?t=6689

Specifically, note this rule, among others, about what we do not allow-
-Unsubstantiated rumors about Bradley players, coaches, or staff, or any information that is negative or defamatory in nature...

I knew about the information regarding the new assistant coach being hired as early as Tuesday morning, and some people knew it before me, several days before you posted it here. So I assure you nobody here was unhappy or jealous that you "broke a story" that was already several days old, and known by others.

This site will always remain a more popular and better fan site than the other available options because of the way it's run, including a few rules that a few may not like. Unlike other sites, we don't allow discussions to degenerate into name-calling like the above post, and we simply ask that if you are going to post a significant rumor about Bradley players or staff, that you give us some source, or that it be substantiated publically.
If you or anyone doesn't like the way this site is run, you are fortunate to have other options of where to get your information and post messages. You also have the option to start your own site and rumor away. But if anyone thinks they have some rights here to post any rumors or attacks they want, they are wrong and they will lose their priviledge to post.

The fact remains that the previous rumor about the coaching staff that you and others went wild with was completely wrong, and it did cause some people some grief. Our agenda here is to support Bradley athletics, and to deal in facts and opinions, not unsubstantiated rumors.
