Tyler Les commits to Division I school

Back home to California for Tyler. Good luck!

A neat little nugget - He's joining the only conference in the US where every school is in the same state.

Tyler Lee and California

Nothing wrong with California Girls, but doesn't this seem odd that he would not go to where his father is the coach! Would this be telling US that JL may not be with BU in the next four years! Food for thought........

hey...

hey...

it could also be that i been with my dad for my whole life, and theres no way i'm playing for him.

Congrats to Tyler!

IMHO It would be very tough to play at the same school where your father is a coach and in the school's HOF.

UC-Davis is a great school with a terrific surrounding area. I love Bradley, but I'm pretty sure I would choose Davis as well. 8)

Actually it is about as common for a son of a college coach to play elsewhere as it is for him to play for his father. It's just that we hear a lot more about the kids who play for their fathers.

There were other D1 schools interested in Tyler, but his broken foot near the end of the season really hurt his recruiting.

UC-Davis loses only 1 senior this year, but he is their leading scorer. They have a very young team and could be pretty good in the next couple years.

Maybe UC-Davis could have something in common with Ohio U???????

Yeah -- there's plenty of kids both ways...
as we just saw, Greg McDermott's kid chose to play at UNI rather than play at Iowa State for his dad, then when dad moved to Creighton, the kid backs out of his first choice, and goes the other way!!

UC-Davis has a really young coaching staff that has increased their win total every year recently..
A couple of their players in the past have been Yuba kids - so I wonder if that's part of the connection...
..also one of their coaches, Duane Kouba, is a UNI grad..

UC Davis is a mellow school down the road from Sacramento with some great ties to the wine industry academically. I wish him luck!

Congrats and good luck to TL! Wish we could have got him. Not impossible to think he might transfer back someday like JL did. With the load of guards we have the next couple years, it is probably best he goes somewhere else at least right away.

Any chance we schedule UC Davis to come in to Peoria now? That'd be cool to see.
