Any Blackhawks fan know who he is. He only does Hawks games now as far as I know, how bout getting him to do the Natl. Anthem vs. ISU next year!?!?! (Maybe make it an annual thing???) I'm sure the BU alums would donate whatever they needed to get him down if he could come down.

Great baritone voice. He is a classically trained opera singer, who retired fromperforming opera several years ago and is now a real estate salesman in Chicago.

Article from the Chicago Tribune yesterday about Jim Cornelison-

and an interview with him- the tradition of cheering through the anthem began in 1985, and Cornelison started singing in 1995.-

Example of his singing of the national anthem as the crowd goes crazy prior to a game last week against the Flyers-

I love the applause thing. Can we start doing that, or is that reserved for the Hawks?

The cheering thing stared by the Hawks, but there's nothing that says that we can't adapt it for that one game! Heck, maybe we could get him to sing "The Bradley Loyalty Song" or whatever they're calling the Fight song now during a timeout. I know my parents think it's disrespectful, but I think it's a HUGE show of patriotism. Course, at the same time, I don't want to make it too common by copying off the Hawks and inspiring more to do it.

It's just a different way for patriotic Americans to show their pride and appreciation for the men and women in our military who protect our freedoms.

so, applause or not, I really just want him to come sing a National Anthem at Carver (preferably against Il. State). Can we do anything to get him down here?

He's been hired out to sing at weddings, so I think his price might be more reasonable than people think.

Okay, so, I guess, the question is, would the fans want this and, if so, would BU be willing to ask him. If he comes, I would like to see the game (vs. ISUred) advertised even more than usual (how bout some WEEK ads or something!!)

Dude... are you Jim Cornelison?

dude, I WISH! lol nah, i'm just a BU fan that wants ALL the seats filled this year! :) I think having a superstar like Jim doing the National Anthem would bring in people that otherwise wouldn't go. Course, this year's ISUred home game was heavily snowed upon, so that explains some... :) I just want this to happen!!!!

We averaged better than 9,300 fans per game this year, and the ISU game is sold out every season. How many people would Jim Cornelison actually bring in?

How about we just win the Valley and let the attendance take care of itself!

dunno, having him there would add something else to an already awesome game. It doesn't even have to be the ISU game, any game that suffers in attendance. I would let the students cheer during the national anthem if they wanted too. It might draw the hawks fans in! :) Just an idea to see if we could get big names to come do the national anthem too sell out those conference crowds.
