BU offers Sam Dekker

Sounds good. He doesn't look like the athletic forward you would hope for, but I remember Evansville killing us with basketball players that weren't athletic in the old days. And looks could be deceiving, he just looks thin.
 
That's right - he's a 6-6 shooter/scorer who hits everything if left open and can handle the ball....he's a mix of Kyle Kuric & MR
 
If the kid can shoot the J, we want him to play, for BU...

Easier to add weight/muscle than to teach someone how to shoot the rock!

Hope he goes with the Braves!
 
Nobody said anything bad about the kid.. he just looks skinny. Not good .. not bad.. just skinny. I believe I also noted he's listed at 200 pounds already.
Why do some posters on this board feel the need to find something sinister in every post by others.

It was just an impression from the photo.. and Lake Camelot had the same thought. He looks skinny.. not good.. not bad.. just looks skinny in the photo.
 
Yes I know I would rather have a good player than a bodybuilder. I know Adam Morrison was a good college player also. Sorry for the comment. I will admit, I just thought he looked fragile. I did not say don't recruit him though. I would like a high scorer who can shoot. I was just caught by the look of the picture.
 
OK I started the the why go there about this slender guy. I understand all of our paranoid feeling towards the skinny ball players but I just wanted to clarify that he still has time to put on weight and also its not like he will be playing the 4 or 5. Sorry if I offended anyone or was a bit defensive. What I have read I really like the kids game and I hope we have a real chance with him.

Hey Bradley fans. I am a Badger fan from Wisconsin and was looking around online for information on Sam Dekker and saw this thread. Figured I would post some info along. He now holds offers from Milwaukee, Northern Illinois and Northern Iowa to go with Bradley. He is also recieving interest from Wisconsin and will attend the UW advanced camp on June 14.

From everything I have heard/read he is a really talented recruit. He grew from a 6'2 guard to a 6'6/7 wing over the last year+. He can shoot, drive and is more athletic than you might think. In the new rankings, he is considered the 3rd best prospect in Wisconsin(2012). He also plays on a very talented AAU team(Wisconsin Playground Warriors 16U), that is full of D1 talent.

Dekker is usual BU profile- our staff finds em young and other get on board as they mature.. Should be an interesting battle for him.
 
Thanks for the update Badger. Keep us posted on the kid; he sounds like a good one. I'm sure he'd look better in the BU Red & White than the Badger's. :)
