Bradley needs to play the way it practices.....

I wouldn't be surprised if Sam doesn't play and TB doesn't start....
we cannot afford to aggravate injuries as the season is just beginning...

I predict it'll be closer than Quincy's game with SIU but our freshmen (JP, WL) will shine...

Dave Reynolds....
???It??™s been tough because we??™ve had so many guys missing time at one period or another and not getting the reps in practice,??? he (Les) said. ???So it??™s kind of a tough read (where the team is). The continuity of guys playing together isn??™t where we??™ve been in the past (in early November).???

Who the heck is the strength and conditioning coach for the Braves? How can a team have so many injuries every season, particularly at the start of the season, or even before it gets started?

Whatever they are doing with the players to build strength and minimize injuries (through conditioning and weight training, and, through the practice regimen) doesn't seem to be working....

Pretty sure SM isn't playing and TB will be very limited.

WE tweeked his existing knee injury (which we recently found out he needed 2 surgeries to repair) & they held him out to be safe.

Hamstring injuries happen all the time to every type of athlete no matter the training regiment. Using your logic (that proper training by the S&C coach should prevent such injuries) you could argue that no track athlete, basketball or football player would ever pull a hamstring.

Finally, SM has a chronic ankle problem which he continues to rehab and which will probably be problematic all season. None of these injuries are season ending & I like that BU is taking the cautious approach leading up to the regular season.

Questioning our workout regiment in preparation should be questioned. I wonder if our guys are doing any type of yoga. Kareem Abdul Jabar extended his career by doing other activities outside of the regular workout scenario i.e. marshal arts and Bikram yoga. MJ spent just as much time stretching as he did lifting and cardio.

With Taylor not playing as much we may see Will and Jordan at the same time tonight, I would rather get our players back at 100% in a few weeks rather then have injuries like these at the middle of the season.
This will make tonights game more interesting to see the different combination of players we will try on the floor.

The only new "injury" we are discussing is the hamstring pull and those occur regularly to all athletes. I'm sure RW knows about stretching, yoga and alternative means of injury prevention.

We are talking about athletes playing near the highest level in their chosen sport and injuries happen no matter how you train or workout. IMO

Ronnie trains these players in the summer and no way is it anyones fault there are injuries, unfortunately we seem to have more then our fair share but at least these are not major ones.

I'm not saying that someone is not doing their job but questioning our philosophy, this is not a bad thing. I've been fairly successful at what I do but am always questioning my process to see if I can improve it. Are we trying to run structured workouts or are we tailoring the workouts to cover the weakness in each individual? Professional sports teams are always trying to improve the way they train their teams. I'm not questioning Ronnie's ability, just questioning our process because we do seem to have injury issues every year some are just because and others could have been prevented. Who knows if the athletes themselves have followed Ronnie's regiment or have taken short cuts?

BTW... Ankle injuries seem never to really get better. Once you stretched those ligaments there's very little you can do except stop playing. I've seen a few preventative exercises that can strengthen the ankle area and keep them limber but that takes time which we do not have. SM will have sore ankles the rest of the year. He's one tough guy that I know will gut it out but his minutes will be limited. I'll be shocked to see him average playing 25 mpg. I'd like to see him play the last 5 min. in a game and only average 20 mpg.

Yeah, I'm not too worried either. I'd reather be cautious now then have some bad happen in the middle of the season. We are playing another Division II team this Friday, and while I am just a touch concerned that we lost to Quincy even without our two best players, it is what it is, just a preseason game that we used to evaluate our team. We have work to do, but I can't see us losing to TAMK this week. If we do get into some trouble, I'm sure all our players will at least be dressed ready to participate if need be. Hopefully our fans will be into the game as well to will our team to victory.
