The Storyline
In the last game before beginning fall semester final exams, Bradley will face its toughest task of the season Wednesday when the Braves visit defending national champion and #1-ranked Duke in a nationally-televised game from Cameron Indoor Stadium ... Bradley opened the season with four straight wins, but the injury-depleted Braves will be trying to snap a four-game losing streak against a team that has won 18 consecutive games overall, 23 consecutive contests at Cameron Indoor Stadium and 81 consecutive non-conference home games, the latter streak dating back to an 83-82 loss to St. John's Feb. 26, 2000.

Series Information
Tied 1-1:
The teams have not met since a home-and-home series in the early 1950s. After Bradley earned a 93-58 home win Dec. 23, 1950, Duke countered with an 87-69 victory Dec. 8, 1951 in Durham.

Against The Champs
Bradley is 2-9 all-time in games against the defending national champion, most-recently knocking off Villanova, 58-56 in overtime, in the second round of the 1985 Rainbow Classic ... Complete results on Page 4 of attached PDF version of Bradley's game notes package.

Top-Ranked Results
Bradley also is 1-7 all-time against the nation's #1-ranked team ... The lone win was a 91-90 victory Jan. 16, 1960 versus Oscar Robertson's #1 Cincinnati squad at Robertson Memorial Fieldhouse (featuring Chet "The Jet" Walker and Bobby Joe Mason, Bradley was #4) ... Bradley has lost five straight to top-ranked teams since that 1960 win against the Bearcats.

ACC Results
Bradley boasts a 12-4 all-time record against the current, 12-team Atlantic Coast Conference membership and the Braves bring a four-game winning streak against the current ACC membership into Wednesday's game at #1 Duke ... Bradley also is 2-0 against the ACC's only former member, South Carolina ... Since the league was formed in 1953, Bradley owns a 5-2 record in games against teams that were ACC members on game day, including a 1962 win against South Carolina ... Bradley has played only one previous road game against a team that was in the ACC at the time of the game, dropping host Virginia (96-85) March 26, 2008 in the third round of the inaugural College Basketball Invitational ... Clemson (1-0) is the only ACC team, past or present, with a winning record against Bradley -- the Braves have never faced Maryland, North Carolina State or Virginia Tech.

Rainbow Connection
The 1985 Rainbow Classic is significantly tied to Wednesday's game at #1 Duke ... The last time the Braves beat a defending national champion was a 58-56 overtime win against Villanova in the second round of the 1985 Rainbow Classic ... That win came on the heels of an 81-76 loss to a Horace Grant led Clemson squad in the tournament's opening round ... The Braves followed the Villanova victory with an 86-72 win against Wake Forest in the tourney's fifth-place game, which started Bradley's current four-game winning streak against the ACC's current membership ... Bradley head coach Jim Les was the senior point guard on that 1985-86 Braves squad that finished 32-3 overall and remains the last undefeated (16-0) MVC regular-season champion.

Coach K's Game
In his 36 years as a college head coach Mike Krzyzewski has never faced Bradley, but he does have experience against the Braves ... Krzyzewski was a senior guard at the United States Military Academy when he helped the Black Knights to a 54-52 win against Bradley Dec. 20, 1968 in the first round of the Kentucky Invitational in Lexington, Ky. ... Krzyzewski was 3-for-3 from the free throw line for three points and led the Black Knights with three assists in the win.

Warren Heating Up
The Valley's leading scorer at 19.0 points per game, Bradley senior guard Andrew Warren has scored at least 22 points in each of the last four games ... Warren is the first Brave to score at least 20 points in four straight games since Jeremy Crouch enjoyed a five-game streak from Feb. 16-March 1, 2008 ... Warren is the first Brave to score at least 22 points in four straight games since Phillip Gilbert also enjoyed a four-game streak from Nov. 30-Dec. 14, 2002 ... Anthony Parker -- six games from Feb. 4-21, 1996 -- was the last Brave to score at least 22 in five straight.

More Than A Scorer
Not only is Andrew Warren leading The Valley in scoring, but the 6-foot-6 senior guard also is leading the Braves in rebounding at 6.5 boards per game ... Warren is averaging 9.0 rebounds in the last four games, ripping down at least eight boards in all four ... In the Nov. 30 game at Western Carolina, Warren led the Braves in points (22), rebounds (8), assists (4) and steals (2) ... Saturday versus Utah, Warren led the Braves across the board -- points (27), rebounds (10), assists (2), blocked shots (2) and steals (4).

Looking Ahead
Following Wednesday's game at Duke, Bradley will face its longest regular-season break between games in a decade ... The Braves will not play for 11 days until hosting Jackson State Dec. 20 at Carver Arena ... The 11 days between games will be the longest in-season break since a 14-day gap in 2000 between wins versus UAB (Dec. 5) and Western Illinois (Dec. 20) ... The Braves also benefitted from 11-day breaks between the 2006 MVC Tournament championship game March 5 and their first round NCAA Tournament upset of #12 Kansas March 17, as well as the 2008 MVC Tournament and their first-round win against Cincinnati in the inaugural CBI.

Kyrie Irving DTD

Kyrie Irving DTD

Apparently he has some sort of toe injury. A lot of Duke insiders seem to think he will be out for the next few games.This may make help make the final score a little bit more respectable, or at least the highlights a little less posterizing.

We must run the shot clock on every possession.

B=30s. +/- wl/lw, plus=wl, minus=lw
D=20s. +/- lw/wl, plus=lw, minus-wl

20M/H x 60s. = 1200s./H
1200s./H div.by 50s. = 24shts.EA/H

D= misses 50% = 12shts/H = 24pts/H
B= shoots nothing but 3 points shots
and sets up for long rebounds(don't
set up under the basket) and misses
65%
B=misses 65% = 8shts./H = 24pts/H

B=must not foul
must not turn the ball over
must always hold the ball for 30s.
every shot must be a 3 point shot
must play disciplined and not vary from game plan

Play for the last shot from the beginning of the game

Last team to shoot wins the game

:)

I remember watching Duke's last game vs. Butler when Kyrie Irving needed to be helped off the court in the 2nd half. He came back in later in the game but lost a little bit of spring in his step. The announcers speculated that it was just a cramp. Perhaps it was a little worse.

Haha, this gave me a laugh, but it's probably true. I don't think it really helps our chances to win, but Kyle Singler isn't going to dunk in WE's face.

By the end of the Jets-Pats mismatch tonight, for some reason I started thinking about the Duke-BU game...:-o

A few years ago when we played in the EIEIO and I was trying DESPERATLEY to find any positives out of the games I did like the fact we were playing in Virginia (I think that was it) and some people that may have never heard of BU got to see us, learn about us and we ended up putting a pretty good whuppin on em.

It was going to be bad enough at full strength but we just might have been able to make a respectable showing.

Now we most likley walk away leaving a poor impression or at least not making the knid of impression we'd all like to....

Arghhhhh.....

Well, I've always wanted to watch a BU game in HD....

I guess you didn't catch that one random game we played against like... Indiana State or something on HDNet? Anyone remember that? It was kind of weird, becuase HD production and basketball wasn't common yet so they hadn't figured out how to capture the game well using HD tools.
