Need to win this game so we at least go to Ind.St. with some momentum, the players have improved some as we are finally getting contributions from our inside players, Will can do more if he decides to quit fouling so much, the team needs Prosser and Will together on the floor at least 20 minutes.

The teams played 10 games against each other in two stints as Valley rivals -- from 1949-52 and again from 1955-57 ... After winning its first four games and dropping the next five, Bradley will try to start its third streak of the young season as the Braves shoot for their second straight win.

In addition to the game against Detroit, Wednesday's schedule will include a flurry of Braves Club activities:

FATHERS AND SONS
Both head coaches Jim Les and Ray McCallum have freshman sons playing NCAA Division I basketball this season ... Tyler Les is a freshman guard at UC Davis and is averaging 1.6 ppg in his first 10 games for the Aggies (4-7) ... Playing for his father, Ray McCallum Jr. is Detroit's leading scorer at 15.3 ppg and second leading rebounder at 5.8 rpg.
AGAINST THE TITANS
Bradley is 14-5 all-time against Detroit, including a 9-2 advantage in non-conference competition ... The most noteworthy game in the series was played Feb. 22, 1988 at Detroit, where Bradley's Hersey Hawkins set the school and Missouri Valley Conference single-game scoring record with 63 points in a 122-107 Braves win.
WARREN TOPS THE MVC
Bradley senior guard Andrew Warren leads The Valley in scoring at 18.2 points per game ... Warren's 182 points through 10 games represent 29.5 percent of Bradley's overall offensive output, easily the largest individual scoring ratio in the league ... Warren's individual scoring ratio ranks as the largest by a Brave since Curtis Stuckey (25.1 ppg) scored 34.5 percent of Bradley's points during the 1990-91 season and currently ranks as the ninth-greatest ratio at Bradley since World War II.
MORE THAN A SCORER
Not only is Andrew Warren leading The Valley in scoring, but the 6-foot-6 senior guard also leads the Braves in rebounding at 5.8 boards per game ... Warren also is tied for second in The Valley by averaging 1.4 steals per game ... In the Nov. 30 game at Western Carolina, Warren led the Braves in points (22), rebounds (8 ), assists (4) and steals (2) ... In the Dec. 4 game versus Utah, Warren led the Braves across the board -- points (27), rebounds (10), assists (2), blocked shots (2) and steals (4).
FRESHMAN SCORING
Since freshmen once again became eligible varsity players in 1972-73, only nine Bradley freshmen have scored at least 100 points in their first 10 college games ... Current Bradley freshman Walt Lemon Jr. just missed the 100-point mark with 93 points in Bradley's first 10 games, but his 93 points to date rank as the 10th-best total by a Brave in the era of freshman eligibility and are the most since Patrick O'Bryant scored 106 to start the 2004-05 season.
DUNSON STEPS UP
With the season's top two point guards, Sam Maniscalco and Dyricus Simms-Edwards, unavailable, senior Dodie Dunson had just one day to prepare to handle the point guard duties Dec. 8 at #1 Duke ... Dunson was up to the challenge, finishing with eight points, six rebounds, three assists, two steals and, perhaps most notably, zero turnovers in 38 minutes at Cameron Indoor Stadium ... Now in two games as the starting point guard, Dunson's scoring has dropped to 6.0 ppg, but he has contributed 5.5 apg, 4.0 rpg and 1.5 spg ... Although he has played little at the point in his three years at Bradley, Dunson was a point guard in high school and handled the position at times during his freshman season at Iowa State (2006-07) and throughout his sophomore year at Vincennes (2007-08 ).
FOULS & TURNOVERS KEY
In Bradley's five wins this season, the Braves have averaged 13.8 turnovers, while forcing an average of 20.4 turnovers per game ... Additionally, the Braves have made 67 free throws in the five wins, while the opposition has attempted only 60 charity attempts ... In the five losses, however, Bradley has averaged 16.6 turnovers, forced only 13.2 turnovers and attempted just two more free throws (85) than the opposition has made (83).

If BU can maintain the defensive intensity they showed in the first 15 minutes of the Jackson State game, they should do well. Same for running their offense through the paint, vs the weave, high screens, and chuck a three...

This will be a good test to determine if their game yesterday was a fluke, or, something the Braves will build on during the season....

I hope BU keeps two of their three bigs on the floor at the same time...AT can be the first off the bench if/when JP or WE need a blow or get into foul trouble with MK next off the bench. Why bring in JE to spell JP or WE....Its asking a lot for AW to be your second biggerst player on the floor re interior play/rebounding and wanting him to stay fresh on the offensve end. Just my 2 cents....JL knows better.....

Speaking of that,

I'm hearing that Kyrie Irving may not be able play for Detroit tonight.

Need to win this game so we at least go to Ind.St. with some momentum, the players have improved some as we are finally getting contributions from our inside players, Will can do more if he decides to quit fouling so much, the team needs Prosser and Will together on the floor at least 20 minutes.

Latest WE Tweet:
Dear santa, all I want is a double double to get me back on trackkkk!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My response:
Dear santa - please keep Will out of foul trouble - he doesn't need more fouls in his stocking!...and yes, a double-double would be nice, but more rebounds than fouls is all I ask!

Well, one more thing santa,
please make him aware that his new mohawk alone is not enough to intimidate the opposition.

Hope this joking is not taken too seriously, as I still like Will as a player and he seems like a good kid.
We still support you Will, and have faith you can be a stud on the court!

Keys to Victory tonight:

1) Less than 15 Turnovers
2) WE/JP/Sticks 20 pts.
3) Keep rebound margin close
4) Team FG - 45% or better / Team FT - 75% or better
5) AW outscores McCallum

First of all they only play 7, no reason why our starters should not log more minutes tonight because we have a week off after this game, would not be afraid to put Walter on McCallum as Walter is a great defender, Will please play smart and do not commit dumb fouls as you are capable of getting 9 boards a night and a dozen or more points if you can stay in the game for 30 minutes.

Keys to Victory tonight:

1) Less than 15 Turnovers
2) WE/JP/Sticks 20 pts.
3) Keep rebound margin close
4) Team FG - 45% or better / Team FT - 75% or better
5) AW outscores McCallum

1) 9, CHECK
2) 20 pts, CHECK
3) 30-30, CHECK
4) 47%, 77%, CHECK and CHECK
5) 24-15, CHECK

Good Game Braves!

Have to say I was also impressed with bravesmobile.com. I was occasionally seeing updates before Snell called it on the radio.
Then at the beginning of the post-game, he said he did not have any stats because his monitor was down, but I had an instant box score with 2 clicks on my mobile..
