His girlfriend doesn't go to ISU and she certainly doesn't work for ISU

She goes to Heartland. Did ISU get her into Heartland? She was an honor student at Southeastern CC.

Did anyone ever answer why on her Facebook page she says she is an ISU student?

Who knows. Maybe she couldn't get in and just hasn't updated it. Maybe eventually she plans on transferring there.

Do a people search yourself at ISU and you will see no listing of her:

http://www.ilstu.edu/home/find/index.shtml

Do alittle searching and you will see she has been plenty active at Heartland CC though.

The point remains though......if she isn't at ISU, where is the "package" deal? Surely she doesn't need ISU's help to get into Heartland!

then there's at least some evidence she was hopeful of being at ISU and that some effort MUST have been made to get her there, even if she's somewhere else now...so case proven...

You want to place a wager on how significant Mishler's playing time will be? Playing 21 minutes in a single blowout game against one of the worst D1 teams is not exactly what I would accept as proof I was wrong on that prediction, and I think you know that.
His average at the end of this year will be closer to the 2.8 minutes per game he averaged last year than the 21 minutes he played against SIUe (after averaging 7 and 10 mpg in his 2 seasons at ETSU). His time will drop off after Wilkins becomes eligible, and Tony Lewis gets healthy.

Tony Lewis is healthy.

John Wilkins is eligible.

Last night in the MVC opener, Blake Mishler played 18 minutes against Creighton. He was 5-7 from the field with 10 points.

Those are significant, meaningful minutes in a conference game where the score was never out of hand, wouldn't you say? :?:

Mishler is averaging 12.8 minutes per game, 5.7 points per game and 2.6 rebounds per game. I would not consider those stats to be a very significant contribution.

Ahh Da Coach, fighting it to the end are ya? :-D

Now your changing the criteria?

This was your exact comment about Blake:
But Mishler will never play any significant amount. He'd be better off at D2 or D3.

I am not sure how you or anyone can argue that 18 minutes against Creighton in a game that went back and forth wasn't a significant amount.

He averages the same amount of points per game as DSE, while playing almost half his minutes.

His 1.8 offensive per games is .1 behind Egolf's 1.9, who leads Bradley.

I know your like Blake and wish him well. It's okay to admit you were wrong. It happens to us all. :-D

Now you are really getting silly. If you parse any players stats enough, they begin to look better. Will averages 4.5 rebounds per game, which is lower than it should be because he is always in foul trouble. Mishler averages 2.6 rpg. Not even close, especially considering Mishler's is aided by playing garbage minutes, and especially because ISU plays such an incredibly weak collection of teams.

well...I don't know what's more odd....
downplaying a 5-7, 10 pt/18 min game or relying on Blake Mishler to be your go-to guy

I would take Blake in a heartbeat but, he wouldn't have improved as much as he has in our big man screening system. Blake or AT ???? that's a no brainer.

Man, I can not wait for the two ISU Red vs BU games this season....

ISU Student/Fan chant when Mischler touches the ball: "DC is wrong!"

BU Student/Fan chant when Mischler touches the ball: "Not significant!"

Da Coach you really crack me up. ;)

Will averages 4.5 rebounds per game in 22 minutes of play per game.

Blake averages 2.6 rebounds per game in 12 minutes of play per game.

How many of Blake's 18 minutes vs. CREIGHTON were "garbage" minutes?

cpacmel, there you go spinnning things again. No matter how much you spin things, 2.6 rebounds per game is not as many as 4.5 rebounds per game. It's barely more than half as much. And 12 minutes per game is very significant playing time.
I know you hate to face the fact that ISU's schedule is loaded with 250-300+ RPI teams, but considering the quality of those teams, most of Mishler's minutes this season have been either against weak competition and at garbage time.

Da Coach, your absolutely right, 2.6 rebounds per game is not as many as 4.5 rebounds per game.

Just as 12 minutes of game time is not as many as 22 minutes of game time.

Come on Da Coach, connect the dots with the above information. Hopefully the light bulb goes off. I will give you a hint.....if 10 minutes of game time is added to Misher's time, he would be at what Egolf averages.

And did you just say that 12 minutes of game time is SIGNIFICANT? Isn't this how this whole debate started? When you said something like

Mishler will never play any significant amount

So is the 12 minutes he averages significant or not?

And for the 2nd time, was the 18 minutes (10 points) he had against CREIGHTON significant? Or was that just garbage time like all the rest of his minutes and production? :p

First let me clarify an obvious typo- 12 minutes a game is NOT a significant amount of playing time, except if you are an ISU fan and want to make a campaign for Blake Mishler to be Player of the Year. :)

And you are being ridiculous when you take someone's limited numbers, and try to inflate them by expanding out to what they would be if he played 40 minutes per game. You are simply proving the point that his numbers must not be very significant if you have to expand and inflate them. There are a lot of walkons at schools who would have great looking numbers if you did that with their stats.

Cpacmel, you have made your point and you are entitled to your opinion. But you know 12 mpg is not signifiant, I know it, and so does everyone else here. So please, I am growing weary of this continued flaming and beating a dead horse. If you want to believe Blake Mishler is a difference-maker for your team, and his 12 minutes a game and 5.7 ppg (mostly against the weakest opposition any MVC team has faced in decades) is significant, then take your lovefest over to the ISU board were you might be able to convince someone. I am not buying it. This discussion will now be closed, as the viewers on this board prefer to discuss other more important things.
