We have at least eight games left. If it's only eight, and AW stays on his averages, he'll finish 3rd all-time in 3-pointers and 10th in scoring. What a fantastic career from a classy kid. I know I'm jumping the gun, but I'll miss AW more than most guys in recent memory.

Congrats AW -- let's shock the world and win Arch Madness, upset a Big East team in the first round of the dance, and send AW off in style!

Glass = half full

Maybe someone can help me out here...
I am having trouble reconciling a few of the statements I have read about Andrew Warren....

Some have said he's soft and has no competetive fire...
but now we see he is not only one of BU's top scorers and offensive players ever....
but also, both here and on the Creighton boards, he's being described as a thug....swinging elbows, shoulder bumping a Creighton assistant,
and generally causing all kind of havoc and nearly starting a brawl because he is playing way too tough and aggressively....

so which is it??

I don't think a brawl was nearly started but don't you think it can be both at times and subject to people's point of view.....it seemed AW was soft early in his career here and gained some toughness as he went along.

It looks like AW is trying to show some toughness more in the last few games than he was earlier in the season.

I forget which game it was (either ISUred or MSU) at the end he set a screen at the top of the key that wasn't called anything but was throwing a shoulder/elbow to a guy that would have been called intentional by some refs.....when you are losing like we have been try something different and see what happens. I'm sure AW is getting tired of getting knocked around when going through the paint so he's dishing a little back.

He has been taking a beating and I have a real problem with how the officials protected the Nate Funks and the rest of the all conference players yet let the opposing teams literally beat up on Andrew, when players continue to get mugged they will fight back and clearing out a guy with your elbow is a way of sending a message that there are consequences to be paid for bumping and grabbing him , the officials are at fault because they are letting too much go on and when that happens the player is left to take matters in to his own hands, Creighton fans are sore losers and their students are nothing but a bunch of foul mouthed drunks.

I agree that Andrew has gotten manhandled by a number of MVC opponents, and lately he hasn't been getting as many fouls called on them. With Sammy and Taylor not playing, it's no secret that opposing coaches know who is going to take more shots than anyone else on Bradley, and they adjust the defenses to key on Andrew. I encourage fans to specifically watch how teams guard him on the offensive ends. There is a tremendous amount of grabbing, holding, pushing, and roughing up that the officials let go. I expect it to be worse than usual at SIU

Yeah, I've seen it too. It's really annoying me at times... I think what we're seeing is a ref backlash at a player who was creating contact too much (rather than taking his shot) and benefitting from too many fouls called in his favor. He WAS doing that a ton earlier in the year and the refs eventually stopped calling them (got himself a rep, I guess), but when they stopped calling it so much he stopped doing it and now they need to pay some attention to all the grabbing and bumping Drew's having to deal with.

I agree with everything you wrote about AW. I'm glad others are finally seeing what I've been saying all along. The guy sat out for a full year without being able to play. That will take a toll at this level.

Regarding the glass half full yours is 3/4 full right now.

You have a point -- there were BU guys saying he was not deserving of All Conf...
but I am on a slow dial up connection right now and will do some searching later & find some...

Aw wasn't playing good early on, he was playing soft and those that stated so were dead on...he has since REALLY turned up his game and most of those that were hard on AW demanding/expecting more have offered him props......

I even said he could play with a little more umph but as T indicated there were some that said he had no business to even be considered on any all conference team let alone be mentioned. He'll be one of my all time favorite Braves not just what he has shown on the court but has been a great representative of the school.

AW is 10 pts behind Deon Jackson

Current thru the SIU win.....AW is now only 10 pts behind Deon Jackson !

I thought he had 1468 pts. before the SIU game (???) That would put him at a tie at #13 with DJ, right?

Deion is one of my favorite Braves of all-time, so I'd hate for him to slip down on the record list. Actually, I don't mind at all and would question if he remains at #13 for too long!

According to my calculations, and if he currently has 1491 total points, A-Dubb would need to avg. 17 ppg to take over the #10 position, to be in great company just behind Anthony Parker.
And the 2 players' styles are quite similar, and both sporting the #24 as a Brave.

Not sure where the discrepancy comes from, but Andrew's official total is 1,481 according to the Bradley SID.

AW tied with MS with 12 pts and 2 3's vs Missouri State tonight

Well, AW is showing an all-around game this year that we've never seen from him before...that deserves commendation. And I've seen everyone who has said negative things in the past recognize that publicly as well.

And it's great that he's having such a wonderful senior year, bad breaks for the team aside.
