Again???????!

I'm not the best lip reader, but when they showed the replay on TV, it looked like Les screamed across the court at the ref that the call was bull****.

That's what it looked like to me as well.

Didn't cost us the game, though. I saw the second half, and this was the first I had watched of BU since the ISU game. They definitely looked improved, but I agree that they panicked for a stretch late after UNI went ahead.

BU gets a lead in the FH, then jacks up and misses three consecutive 3's and lose the lead. They then pound the ball inside, make layups and go up by 9. They miss jumps shots four consecutive times down the floor at the end of the FH while UNI makes their shots and lead gone.

When is this BU team going to learn it can't play with other teams by just shooting and missing jump shots in bunches while letting the oppostion run off a string of jump shots? Where was the defense they threw out during the last four games?

Didn't see/hear the game, but from ESPN Gamecast in the FH AW disappeared for much of the FH...How did he do in the 2H?

"UNI is vulnerable when they shoot poorly from outside, and had they shot poorly out there tonight, this game would have been over by halftime."

You could also say BU is very vulnerable whey they shoot poorly from the outside, and BU shot poorly out there tonight in the 2H.

Finally, rhetorical question, how does UNI find all these great shooters, and good recruiting BU can't?

I fear he's starting to get a reputation among refs for this sort of thing. The trend is the problem moreso than any individual outburst.

I just don't think some of these refs like him....... AT ALL! He comes across cocky, whiny, arrogant, and is always b!tching and moaning. Come on man! Pick your spots coach!

And he just showed absolutely no remorse on the radio and jokingly deflects all blame by saying he was good for one point. WTF? That's a joke coach!

Actually it was 3 points. Ahelegbe missed the first tech FT, which would have been the 1 and 1...he then made the next 3. Without the tech, he misses the 1 and 1, and as long as we get the rebound, we give up 0 points instead of 3.

Well it only cost us one point. They had the ball anyway. But the players had to think here we go again. I know I did.

C'mon....just admit it.....that technical cost us the game. No way we lose this game if that technical never happened. Everyone knows that!

The T is inexcusable, 3 times this year late in the 2nd half in a close game.

Oh, and we made adjustments Chi-town, we went to a zone against a hot shooting 3 team in the 2nd half. Then we played some sort of hybrid zone where half our guys were playing man and half our guys were playing zone, looks like they had never practiced it before. Then we started switching all screens late in the game, something I've NEVER seen done by a Les team in 9 years, which allowed great match-ups like Alhellegba on Egolf.

I thought things went south very quickly after the technical... :( Without the technical, we had a chance, it changed the mood of the game, players and fans. You know, here we go again.

And now we've got this to look forward to

Tennessee-Martin won at EIU tonight 73-54... by 19 points
And they earlier won their home game with EIU 63-62

Remember the problems we had EIU's very complex triangle offense?

UNI had a fantastic shooting night. The haters will, of course, blame it entirely on Jim Les, but that's ridiculous.

And just how good would UNI have been tonight if Aheleghbe and James were out, as are 2 of Bradley's top scorers? But the anti-JL folks don't wan't to hear about that, because it takes away from their opportunity to lay the entire blame on the coach.

Bradley played well tonight, but they couldn't compete with the uncanny shooting percentage from deep. Nice effort by the Braves. If they meet UNI in the tournament, I'll take the Braves.

Tennessee Martin is bad...as in worse than anyone in the MVC. The EIU loss was inexcusable, and EIU has gone way downhill the last half of the OVC season. A loss at UTM will be inexcusable as well.

Come on Da Coach. Aheleghbe and James weren't UNI's top scorers coming into the season. Playing without them and Bradley playing without Sam and Taylor is not the same comparison. If Sam is healthy does DSE play as well as he does tonight? Does he get 15 shots? Is Andrew the same player? You just can't magically fit guys into the mix and add their production to the production you are getting from the other players. It doesn't work that way.

Personally I don't live in the "what if" world of hypotheticals. The team Bradley has is the team Bradley has. Just as the team UNI has is the team UNI has.

Remember, if we were injury free Andrew and Dodie wouldn't be on the roster this year. Just as this game was NOT lost by Jim Les' technical the idea of comparing James and Ahelghbe not playing isn't a legit argument either.

It's a game Bradley could have won. UNI played better. The technical didn't help but so what. The better team won tonight. Saying this doesn't make anyone a "hater".

They are their two best scorers, and probably their 2 best players, period. It is comparable to Bradley losing Sam and TB. You are free to see things your way, but you are dodging the obvious point. The fans who want to lay the blame (and they always look for blame) for this loss on the coach, would like to ignore the obvious fact that Bradley is still playing without those 2 preseason All-MVC players. That had a lot to do with tonight's loss.

I don't follow either one of them, just looked at UTM's schedule tonight and saw what I posted, so I hope you're right and it's an easy win for us. Go Braves, Go help win it Coach...

You can play coulda, woulda, shoulda all the way to the bank. What if we got Matt Roth to shoot 3's, what if we had Carlton Fay, what if what if what if......

The difference is they werent out of the game and Bradley needed to find a way to stop the 3, but lets be honest Bradley hasnt been able to stop the 3 all year. UNI scored 45 points on 3 pointers, you would think BU would adjust and not play a zone while the other team is draining everything in sight and we cant throw a beach ball in the ocean standing in the water from behind the 3 point line. What people are most upset about is the timing of the technicals and HE HASNT LEARNED HIS LESSON! He still keeps doing it time and time again, that shows to me that he just doesnt care how he acts and puts the blame on everyone but himself. At least man up and say "my bad" every once in a while and not deflect blame EVERY FREAKING TIME. It gets really old and on alot of peoples nerves when you dont take responsibility of your actions and essentially arent doing your job as the head basketball coach.

I'm not "blaming" anyone for the loss. It was a team loss. One that hurt when trying to stay out of last place. The whole team lost the game. UNI shot lights out and won the game.

Not to nitpick because it doesn't matter, but Anthony James didn't even start last year. He was not a preseason All MVC guy. Comparing him to Sam and Taylor isn't the same. James became a good player this year.

Just as the technical was irrelevant in the end, so is the tired injury excuse. How about no one "blame" Jim Les and no one bring up injuries again?

Fair enough?

"Comments like these accomplish nothing except making things more divisive."
;-)

(Just kidding....I liked this BNC quote from another thread..with a season like this, just got to keep a sense of humor!)
