KW Article Not Real Positive

He only wants the coach fired like he has for a long time (about 9 years).

KW wants a successful program on the Hilltop...the same as everyone else on this Board. He just disagrees with the process and feels that the person in charge is not fully capable of guiding the program to that level. Is he wrong??? I don't think so...

Personally, I hope his prediction of + or - 20 days is accurate.

Just to be clear, I don't think anyone has ever questioned that KW is a BU fan. People are suggesting he doesn't like KW, and that KW didn't want JL hired, which I still believe to be true. I'm not saying he's worng at this point or anything like that, just clearing that up.

I think you could find posts from people saying he doesn't like BU...But you could also find posts on a message board claiming the world is flat.

I for one didnt want JL hired...he was my pick 7. wayne was 8.

what does that mean?

Bingo

Read KW's piece after BU won in the big dance.....I don't think he always wanted Les out.

And, it should be noted, KW used that one piece for years to defend that he was fair to Les. Even years later he pointed to that one piece to show balance. Not exactly balance, IMO. That would be the article where he said Jim Les had "finally arrived" as a credible Division 1 coach.

KW was harsh in today's article, but I don't really have a problem with it. He has been more fair towards Les this year than in the past.

Agreed

I've stopped reading KW a while ago.

I always thought he was a flamer and liked to make people mad.

Recently - it was pretty much confirmed to me by someone else.

So why does anyone care to read anything from a flamer with an agenda out to make people mad?

Personally, I hope his prediction of + or - 20 days is accurate.

After winning 3 of 4 games, I was about to get back on the JL bandwagon, but last night reminded me of why I jumped off (starting last season after the Western Carolina game) Our guys played well enough to win, but the coaching didn't give us much of a chance.

If Les is gone and we don't lose key guys (DSE / JP / WL), while getting Remy & DS to commit regardless of the coach, I'm fine with that.

Someone who can get players (SM, TB, DSE, JP, WL, JE, SH, RA) to just do what they do best, would be nice.

If Les stays, then I fully expect him to bring BU into contention next year...or else.

Everytime someone writes an article that is critical of BU basketball and the coach he seems to have an agenda, will I was not fooled by are mini winning streak because I knew our coach would figure out a way to screw it up and last nights game proved once again he is over his head when it comes to in game decisions, he continually substitutes us out of runs and then benches players that are having good games like he does not know what has been going on out on the floor.

Welcome back! Where have you been? Haven't seen you posting in while.

Wow. You are that easily swayed by one person telling you that he is a "flamer" who likes to make people mad? I've never had that experience with Kirk. So will you change your opinion back now? ;)

no -- he clearly said he has always thought that and it has also been confirmed by others....
the fact that you fail to confirm it isn't likely to change something he has "always thought"

He said it was confirmed by one person :)

Either way, if MMob thinks that then great. If he doesn't read Kirk then great. It would be hard to comment about an article I didn't read. Maybe that's just me.

It's the hearsay method...read only what others say what was written. Say only what others say about what one says.

If I'm going to take exception to something, I'm going to carefully examine original source material, because most of what is said and read in the world-even in what is considered credible publication and media-is misinterpreted and people draw their conclusions based on what is said about what was said, rather than what was said.

What did you just say? ;)

.... It definitely sounds like he knows something... If not, it would be very dangerous to a columnist's credibility to write that a coach under contract has only 20 days left. I have heard similar unsubstantiated rumors, but it would seem odd to print that statement without excellent inside knowledge. The timing definitely seems strange.

Exactly what I thought when I first read the story on the PJS BU site. The timing of these comments was real poor and serves no purpose for BU and the current team/potential recruits. Wait till after the season is over for these predictions.

While I have not ready every article from KW, I have never found him to be as anti-JL or anti-BU as some on the board seem the believe he is. It definitely sounds like he knows something... He did not say it definitively. His exact words were:

The Braves on Tuesday night reminded us why their season record is 9-18, why they’re last in the Missouri Valley, why so many empty seats turn out to watch them play.

And yes, they reminded us why Jim Les’ days remaining as head coach likely number fewer than 20.

You would have a point if he said what you say he said, but he didn't. He was very careful in how he said it by using "likely" as a qualifier.
