Press Conferene at 2PM at SIU with announcement regarding Men's Basketball

Here is the rumor and it's posted on a different MVC team's message board by a guy claiming he talked directly to one of the SIU players..

That Chris Lowery WILL be back next year ...and that a couple of the previously arrested players are GONE
 
summary -- and some commentary & paraphrasing...

-Chris Lowery is staying - no guarantees how long but he is thought to have 3 years left on current contract

-there will be two assistants replaced -- sounds like the admin is forcing these changes and it's not necessarily Lowery's choice..one will be Marcus Belcher

-AD suggests so many players have become unhappy and left and that it was due to the old assistants so we need some new ones

-sorry for all the losses but we recruited players who didn't fit our system -- in other words -- it was the players' fault - and when the best of those mis-fit players left -- the lesser mis-fits did even worse

-GIVEN THAT IT WAS A PRESS CONFERENCE THEY TOOK QUESTIONS -- on one question about one of the incoming recruits - the answer was that the local press had no business calling the recruits.

-we will be better next year

-all the players and also ALL the staff, coaches and admins DO read the comments people make on message boards..
many are hurtful and some may even affect a players motivation to want to play...

-costs figured into the decision not to buy out Lowery
