The Illinois Mr. Basketball award is shared between Chasson Randle of Rock Island HS, and Ryan Boatright of East Aurora. It is the first time there was a tie for the Mr. Basketball award. Wayne Blackshear of Chicago Morgan Park was 3rd, Chicago Perspectives HS's Anthony Davis was 4th, and Lisle Benet's David Sobolewski was 5th.

As noted by Coach it was the first time in history the vote finished in a tie. It was a good thing for Randle that someone in the media noticed that the ballots were not mailed out to all voters on time. I can't find the story but it basically said that most of the voters south of Chicago had not received a ballot by the time the votes were due. The committee had to send out "new ballots" to those did not vote and pushed back the original deadline.

Anyone know where Max finished?

The information released only listed the top 5. The Chicago Tribune is scheduled to have more detailed information, including the 2011 All State teams, and the complete Mr. Basketball balloting on Sunday.
