There was a published report that Cincinnati had to pay ISU $25,000 just to delay the game until 2007-2008, but if they then change their minds and don't want to play it in 2007-2008, they will still owe the contracted full buyout that is rumored to be in the $80,000-$100,000 range.
But don't put it past Cincinnati to do just that.
They could buy out entirely of the ISU game and add an extra game against a BCS school and easily make that amount up and even double it.
Just recently Bill Self was quoted as saying if just one of their exhibition opponents backed out or if they went to a closed scrimmage instead it would cost them $400,000-$500,000,
that's how much money they make just on a home exhibition game. They probably make double on a big time game with TV coverage.
