What a game for Zach. There is however, a few questions that I'm left asking myself after the game. For one, do any of you think that Zach can be this productive (average 15 points a game) all season long? With POB gone, Zach has some big shoes to fill. In the first half, it almost looked like Zach was left alone, as he had 3 or four dunks practically uncontested, and this is surprising considering UIC's big men seemed to be about the same size as Zach.

As a freshman in junior college, playing well behind some other very talented players at Yuba, Zach still averaged close to a double double. (I believe he had around 8ppg, 7rpg)

As a sophomore at Yuba he averaged a double double, 14ppg, 11 rpg.

Last year in very limited play, Zach averaged about 5/5, but he'll certainly get double+ that this season.

I think barring injury, Zach not only has a chance to average 15 points, 10 rebounds, I think he is almost a lock to do so.

Patrick O'Bryant was a great post guy with a huge upside.
But POB's averages for last season were 13.4 points per game, 8.3 rebounds per game, 55.2% FG percentage, and 2.8 blocks per game.

Zach is currently averaging 15.3 ppg, 12.3 rpg, 65.5% FG pct, and 1 bpg.
His stats are already well ahead of POB's, and although he might fall off a little bit, I think he will finish with as high or higher scoring and rebounding averages than POB ever had at Bradley.

Zach is currently averaging 15.3 ppg, 12.3 rpg, 65.5% FG pct, and 1 bpg. His stats are already well ahead of POB's, and although he might fall off a little bit, I think he will finish with as high or higher scoring and rebounding averages than POB ever had at Bradley.

The biggest part of POB's game that helped BU was the intimidation factor. He altered shot after shot and even made players think twice about going to the basket. That is the thing that will be the hardest to duplicate! I'm not aware of a stat for this, but if there was Zach (or anyone probably for a long time) will not come close to what POB did as far as changing things on the defensive end. Just my opinion.

The thing that seperates ZA from other centers is the quickness of his jump! It's almost like he's jumping off a mini-trampoline or something.........it's just too-quick to guard or stop IMO! This makes him harder to guard than PO'B because he is just so-much-more atheletic than PO'B! :wink:

I agree with you 100%. Plus the fact that Zach does not have to worry about other team member putting up 20 plus shoots a game :wink:

Hey-- for those who have not seen these articles about Zach, I will repost them.

The kid really does have atough and interesting background, and some very good aspects to his success.
You can't help but feel really godd for Zach when you read these.

Zach Andrews

Zach is the ONE player we cannot afford to lose. The drop off between Zach and Salley, Singh, and Jassey is huge.
Except for shot blocking and being an imposing figure on D. I like Zach over OB. would it not be great to have both? Wow!
What a run that would have been.
Big men with Zachs athleticism do not come around often. We should really appreciate his talents.
