Candice Parker dunks again

Candace Parker had a career game yesterday at UConn.

Not only did she score 30 points, grab 12 trebounds, and block six shots, she DUNKED again giving her six dunks in her career.
(maybe womens college BB will keep "Career Dunks" as a legitimate stat just like "Double Doubles".)

Could she be the first women's player to leave early for the WNBA Draft?

I dont think that would make much sense, her family doesnt need the money, and playing for Tennessee is gonna be more prestigious than anything the wnba can offer, and she will be on tv more in college.

I think you are right, Fetz.
I am sure Candace will want to play professionally eventually, but there is more prestige playing as the top player in women's college at ball at a program like Tennessee.

we need higher standards than an 'almost' dunk.

Sorry but I cannot watch women's sports.
Did you see it. She JAMMED it! The rim bent and everything. Quite a feat. I'm just sorry cats like you don't appreciate rarities such as a woman dunking a basketball.

the fact that it's a rarity is what makes it unwatchable for me.

i'd much rather watch ANY mid-state 6 or mid-illini boys high school game.

i have a feeling that the mid-state 6 boys champion would destroy the WNBA champion every year.

I am pretty sure that would not happen. I love watching CP3 play, have since high school, and i'm sure her college team would beat the boys too. Dunking isnt everything, the girls are almost better to watch, better passing and shooting, not who can try to dribble around who, and who can dunk the best.

Sorry Da Coach, I just can't agree with the statement that her hand is "well above the rim".
I see her hand partly above the rim, with the lower part of her palm and her wrist below the rim.
I have also seen several of her dunks, and in every case, she releases the ball just above the rim and then grabs the rim
or hits it with her hand. This is only marginally a dunk in my book.

Look at these pictures that the articles call "DUNKS", but the ball is out of her hand while her hand isn't even over the rim.

From the angle the pic was taken, one simply cannot tell.
Heck-- even the lower left hand corner of the backboard looks to be 4 inches above the rim.

Well, then you just aren't willing to see what everyone else can see. I have watched a number of CP's games, and she jumps better than any woman I have seen, and can easily get her hand above the rim. and there are no doubts about her dunks.
