1-20 Valley standings..

_____Valley___Home___Away
UNI.....6-2........4-1.......2-1
SIU.....6-3........3-0.......3-3
CU......6-3........4-1.......2-2
MS......5-3.......3-1.......2-2
BU.....5-4........3-1.......2-3
INS.....4-4........3-1.......1-3
UE......3-5........3-1.......0-4
WS.....3-6........3-1.......0-5
DU......2-6........2-2.......0-4
isu......2-6........2-3.......0-3

SIU looks to be in great shape as 6 of their first 9 have been on the road and they have a 3-3 record in those road games. Not to mention, every other team in the Valley has now lost at least one home game.

After Illinois State plays Drake later today they will have
6 of their last nine games on the road. The road games for
them will be @Bradley,@SIU,@Missouri State,@UNI,@WSU,
and at Indiana State. The reason I mention Illinois State
is that there is a thread on their message board discussing
their NIT chances despite the fact that they have a 133
RPI and are 2-6 in Valley play.ISU's non conference strength
of schedule could be better. They must be so straved for
sucess in Normal that they let the Wichita win go to their
heads.

Anything is possible in the league this year, but I don't see ISU moving ahead of anybody from this point on.

There are 2 games scheduled for today.........

in a fight for the basement.......

DU @ isu..........12 pm........was scheduled for a 2 pm start but moved as to not compete with the Bears play-off game today also @ 2 pm.......look for a really small crowd!

MS @ UE.......3:30 pm in a game MS needs to keep up with siu.......but UE plays tough @ home!

I don't know how far Illinois State can rise in the conference standings either, but I will say this. They have rebounded nicely since that horrible home loss to SIU. They lost at home to Indiana State, but they have beaten Northern Iowa and Wichita State at home. They lost by 4 at Drake and lost to Creighton by a closer margin than Bradley did in Omaha. Their home loss to Missouri State was by the same margin we lost to the Bears by in Peoria. Along the same lines, Evansville bounced back nicely from that humiliation in Springfield and followed it up with a home win over the Salukis. Today, the Aces host the Bears, and I wouldn't put it past UE to snag a win there, as improbable as it seemed 10 days ago. Look at Bradley too. After getting drilled in Wichita, we went on a 3-game winning streak prior to the loss at Creighton, and after weathering a Wichita State comeback attempt, the Braves got back on the winning track. They may have been relegated to the role of spoiler now, but Wichita State will have a chance to show its bounce-back-ability too. The Shockers still have to go to Creighton and Northern Iowa, but they get Indiana State, Missouri State, and Southern Illinois at home.

You are right.....this season is far from being played out.....any team can win @ any venue on a given night....it would have been a good year for the Valley to have had a Big TV package...most games have been very entertaining to watch and would have sold more D1 college fans on the league! I also agree that UE will not lay down for MS today.....that will be a good game! :D

I think this is correct now!

yes you are correct 14.......it should be right now! :)

BU really has only 13 wins as one of the 14 was against a DII school. So in the eyes of the NCAA selection committee BU is 13-7 right now. There are 9 conference games left and one bracketbuster. That's 10 games left, so in my eyes BU can go 23-7 before the tourney! That should get a bid, huh?
