Just a couple unrelated BU thoughts

Did anyone read about ISU's coach Porter Moser being ticked off at the Bradley pregame intro?
Apparently he knew nothing of it until just before the game he was informed that the intro of his players would take about one minute but the intro of the BU players would happen with lights off, video playing, and take about 5 minutes.
He was apparently quite displeased. When the BU intros began, Moser marched his entire team completely off the floor. They went back through the hall behind the bench toward their lockerroom and then did not return to the floor until the arena lights came back on.
Maybe this backfired and hurt his team's concentration to start the game as Bradley went on a blitz and made 13 of their first 14 shots.

Did anyone notice, that the Winona State Warriors are still UNDEFEATED!
They are 17-0 and their web site brags about them having
"extended their winning streak to 38 games. WSU is 17-0 for the season, has won 21 straight NSIC games and 18 consecutive games on the road."

Bradley is still the only team to beat Winona State in over a year! (we beat them in a preseason exhibition)

Here's an article about Blake Ahearn and how he's about to become college basketball's best career free throw shooter.
There are mentions of JJ Redick and Illinois Wesleyan's (& East Peoria's) Korey Koon, as well as one lady college player who averaged 94.8% (including 133 in a row).

Ahearn is presently at 95.2% in his career, and he would have to miss his next 18 in a row to fall out of first place in NCAA career FT shooting! Ahearn has only missed 20 FTs in his entire full 4-year career at Missouri State.
His most recent miss was 11 games ago on December 18!!

Porter isn't fit to carry JL's bags. Oops, yes he is, after all that's what porters do, carry bags.

An addendum to tornado's original post--right now Winona State is playing at Northern State live on FCS Pacific. Wachs Arena in Aberdeen, South Dakota looks to be packed, and the announcers said a majority of Northern's 3000 students were at the game (11 a.m. start). Winona State comes into the contest sporting an overall winning streak of 39 games. NSU leads early 6-3 at the first TV timeout.

Get over it. Who doesn't have extravagant home introductions these days?! What does ISU do for their's?

I think they paint the arena red, or maybe that is show up as empty red seats in the arena... something like that.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I could see all the hoopla in the intro the first game of the season after what happened last season, but it's a little much I think now. I don't think it's fair to the other team to have to wait that long. But then who cares what's fair for ISU, the way they treat Bradley fans over there.

i disagree. i think that getting the bigger crowds into the games works to BU's advantage and this helps accomplish that prior to tip off. that being said they should inform the coaches beforehand so they are aware of this.

BI_Brave- do you mean Bradley should inform them before they get there?
The visiting coaches are always informed of this intro practice when they arrive at the Civic Center, and they are offered the alternative of staying on the floor, or being escorted off and back to the hallway or dressing room under the stands. Moser's reaction came when he was told about this, but it was well before the game.

oh ok, i didn't know the parameters of when he was told about this. if he was given word well before the game then like u said he's got the choice to go into the locker room. i had thought that he was told of the intro's close to gametime like it was sprung on him all of sudden.

just as long as they have the option of not having the team out there while its going on, i see no problem! but you know they can hear the crowd going while they are in the dressing room! still an advantage to BU! :D

Drake did the same for their Saturday game against UNI (lights off, video for 3-4 minutes, then introductions)....first game with the new video boards and new light/sound system. I didn't notice if Jacobson and UNI stayed for it or if they left the court.
