The only MVC game tonight--

Illinois St. 12-12 (Conf: 4-9) at Missouri St. 17-7 (Conf: 8-5) 8:00pm CST

John Q. Hammons Student Center (Springfield, MO)

The game is on ESPNU and Missouri State should win by 18 but they won"t as it seems like they only play well against BU and SIU; I still cannot believe they are not winning the conference as I believe they have the most talent.

Anyone think think there is a chance of isu helping us out tonight?
I wonder if Slack is playing after hurting his ankle late in the second half saturday night.

It would be nice but I don't see isu giving the Bears much of a game. MSU should win this one going away.

i'm too lazy to look at the current standings but if isu loses they will be the first valley team to go under .500 on the season, correct? still that says loads for the league that the first team to go under .500 isnt till early february.

The Birds don't have much of a chance tonight. They'll lose by at least 15. Slack will play but he's really sore. I know he'd like to show up Berruh with a huge game, but he's suffering right now.

I think it's been about 8 years since the Redbirds won in Springfield.

That said I'd love to watch it, but i don't get ESPNU

I don't fully buy that.
Seems like just when there's a sure thing in the Valley, someone pulls a surprise.

Missouri State recently lost 3 in a row, two of which were at home
by scores of 75-65 (UNI), 63-56 (at Evansville), 66-62 (Creighton).
So I am hopeful ISU can help themselves and help us in the process.

I think these are the reasons that we will lose tonight. Plus, you have to remember the Redbirds haven't won a Valley road game since Feb of 2005. I'm pretty sure that's safe tonight.

Just as BU is a bad match-up for ISU, MSU is also a bad match-up. If ISU has less than 10 turnovers and wins the rebounding battle, they have a chance. Last time they played these guys MSU shot nearly 70% for the game and nearly 80% from 3.
I can't see the 'Birds getting closer than 15. As usual I hope I'm wrong.

I don't think any of the Thursday night teams have won on the road against the top six. Very few have even been close.

MSU is a 13 point favorite.

I don't see this being close, but I might turn it on to listen to the commentary or watch ISU suffer. Who picked this to be a game to televise?

This would be epicly devastating to MSU's at large chances with a loss here.

I don't see it happening. This is the definition of a must win.

Agreed. I saw a spread of 14 and I don't know if it'll get that bad, but I don't see any way that the Bears lose this one.

I'd like ISU to win to give us a shot at moving up but I'd also like the seperation an ISU loss would give.

Also, like someone mentioned it wouldn't bode well for MSU and the Valley as far as bids....

hmmm....who to pull for?
