ESPN TV=bias

I can't figure out why ESPN does not show more valley games, especially when the only "better thing to watch" is Arkansas-Pine Bluff versus Southern and last week, who actually watched Samford @ EIU? Who cares when the games televised are between two losing teams in a one bid conference?
 
I understand your point, but many on here would be hypocritical if they agreed with it. It wasn't long ago (and still is)that we were complaining about not getting on TV, while the BCS conferences were making the exact statement you just made about us.
 
I would not mind watching games out of such conferences IF the teams are worth watching, not just some middle of the pack or basement dweller teams. If the game was against the top two teams in the OVC, no big deal. There are some good teams in these leagues, and it's good to get a chance to see them, but don't show me two teams with RPI's over 300 when I could watch an MVC game.
 
I'd just like to see a Bradley game (or any Valley game) in broadcasted in real High-Def like some of the BCS school games shown on ESPN. Looks really cool.

Anybody know if the HD broadcast is an ESPN decision or does Peoria need to invest in the cameras itself?
 
When ESPN signs the contracts with all these lesser conferences for Championship Week, they're forced to pick up at least 1 regular season game from the conference as well. By contract. So at some point, every conference gets an ESPN game.

With that rule plus all the big boys that need to eat, that doesn't leave much room for the Valley. That and the MVC has a contract with Fox Sports Midwest, so it isn't THAT bad.

What's the fascination around here with hi-def? that's all I hear. Is it in Hi-def? Will it be on HD-TV? I'm just glad that we can get the clock and the score on at the same time. We aren't to that hi-def echelon yet, let's just be happy we can watch the game.

And this is a good thing. It gives those lesser conferences a chance for some exposure, something the Valley was fighting for not that many years ago.
