And its done.

Well, it was fun thinking we could get an at-large bid while it lasted. But, that is NO longer a possibility, period.

Nope. Nail in the coffin.

Wow! What the heck happened tonight? :( Let down game perhaps?

Well, time to cement a home NIT game on Saturday by beating Indiana St.

I guess there still is a chance of that great Jim Les/Bob Knight matchup with the way Texas Tech is getting clobbered tonight!

What a colossal choke job...

I was not there because of the flu. Do you think the kids started to get too full of themselves looking at a possible at-large bid and overlooked this game? The old "we're cool and too good..." attitude that sometimes shows itself even with good kids? Or was it just one of those games? :x

Being able to watch it ...

It was just one of those games. We seriously couldn't shoot the last 10-13 minutes of the game and UNI played great. They deserve a lot of credit for playing a phenomenal game, but we still should have won if we hit just a couple shots...

Hopefully not because I think our team remembers how close we came to not making it in last year. Hopefully it was just one of those games, and we make sure not to repeat this on Saturday and hopefully beyond.

Still a great season, and I'm not completely ruling out an at-large birth after seeing Creighton getting mauled at Illinois St tonight. Just so many goofy games this year, which shows the strength of this conference.

However, if Missouri St wins, Hinson will look like a genius tonight since he will be in the driver's seat for an at-large bid!

we were also waaaaay out of control the last 5 minutes of the game... it was one shot and done and the one shots were just AWFUL.... all around by will, jeremy and daniel.... JL has to coach this team better at teh end of the games and make sure the get a good look. .... He did call a few TO's at the end but still never got a good look at the basket...

I guess you have to credit UNI for their defense.... I dont know why but we dont match up with them well for some reason...

Well, the at-large talk can stop, but we have it in us to win 3 in St. Louis--but we have to be on our game and healthy when we get there. Poor shooting down the stretch hurt us tonight, just like it did in Carbondale a couple of weeks ago. That too was a winnable game.

although this puts us slighly off the bubble some more, i'd still say if MO St loses tonite and braves win sat, and get to the finals of mvc tourny that would get them 22W's (is is it 21 w/ that one d II game )for the season.. still possible..

I completely disagree. This was not Jim Les' fault. BU called a timeout when the game was still within reach, ran a play that set a couple screens for Crouch and he drove to the hoop and had a wide open shot from the free throw line and clanked it. Adams missed some open threes, Franklin bricked a few open shots...

What happened to the crowd tonight? It was a 5-6 point game with under 10 in the second half, and the place was as quiet as if we were at the free throw line. We made no effort to get behind the team when it mattered most tonight...

No, we just kept overlooking the basket. Just got home from the game, loading the gun now to shoot myself.

I agree to an extent, we didn't get the ball to Zach one time in the final 7-10 minutes of the game. The way they were jumping or perimeter screens, we needed to get it inside just to keep them honest.

Not much to say tonight as UNI was the better team. We just didn???‚¬?„?t shoot well in the second half, grabbed too few boards, and didn???‚¬?„?t have enough steals. We now have to win Saturday and at least get to the finals in St. Louis. There is work to do, but there???‚¬?„?s time to do it.

Agreed! Jim Les does not shoot the baskets or set the screens. He calls the plays, and they were good calls. The ball would just not go through the hoop tonight.

The last thing we want this to become is Valleytalk part two, with the "let's fire Jim Les" thread! :D

We just have to put this one behind us, and absolutely, unequivically get this last game against Indiana St to at least gurantee a home NIT game or two, and to give us momentum heading into the Valley tournament.

     Its like procrastinating, you can do the work now (beat UNI) or wait until later but have more work (beat creighton/missouri/or SIU)
