is it just me or does everyone overlook him when it comes to next year? granted he needs alot of conditioning work but he has the size we need and i think, on occasion, has shown he can put the ball in the hoop

I hope that they can work with him like they did with J.C. and get some flexibilty back as he has the potential to do good things at B.U. if healthy.

I agree Sam has potential but my concern is that we seem to have built a guard/speed oriented team. Sam strikes me as more of a "banger" who will have trouble (especially after a couple of knee surgeries) gettting up and down the court like we need. So, my concern is how to fit Sam into the style we are going to play, but I do like his size.

I really like Sam and fel bad that he has had such bad luck. You have to wonder about him fitting into BU's plans when he doesn't play against teams like Evansville and UNI (teams with big slower players). I would be surprised if Sam is back.

I'm not sure Sam can thrive in BU's guard oriented, defensive minded, uptempo style. He is big, but he is not quick and lacks the skills to compete for a re-occuring role on this team. Can he make the necessary adjusts to become an option? Does the coaching staff believe he can be a regular contributor? These are questions only Sam and the coaches can answer. I wish him luck...

Pat was not fast and if thet get Sam into better shape he would be able to get down the court faster; also we need a rebounder to get the ball out on the fast breaks which is something we struggled at this season.

Nobody said they were the same players and only saying that Pat did not get down the floor very fast either and I believe it is more important to have a big body that can rebound then one that is fast.

rf...apples to oranges. Our entire offensive scheme was different this year to last. POB was the focus so running wasn't a priority like it was/is in the 4 guard set this year.

IF POB was on the team we wouldn't be nearly as quick but it wouldn't be neccessary...we'd gladly "wait" for POB to get down the court and set up.

Sam can & will be effective in this offense, mark my words.

I wish you were right but I think Sam will be behind Salley, Juco and Egolf.

Nobody projected any playing time for JC this year. All I know is that it's not like JL to give up on anyone who puts in the work to succeed and I have a feeling Sam is going to be very focused this summer.

I agree that Sam has the potential and a lot of people wanted or thought J.C. was not good enough to play but a lot of hard work over the summer can really pay off; most players improve their game in the summer by working on their defiencies.

I dont know who you talk to but I can assure you plenty of people projected playing time for JC. Recall he averaged 10 pts a game as a freshman. How do you know what that "its not like JL to give up on anyone" JL didnt ever recruit Sam and didnt really see him play till after he was give a schlorship. Its not his fault he got hurt but if he couldnt find minutes in games where we had 5 players 6'5 or smaller on the floor, I dont see how he is going to play when we are 10 deep next year.

JL didn't recruit Sam? How do you mean Lakeview?

AL B evaluated and recruited Sam, he was the one that got Sam a schlorship. Al B got JJ, Sam, POB and I think Les got Rembert.

I would think JL saw them play at sometime before offering. I dunno.

I recall seeing SS and JJ at a local eatery one nite after a home game with JL and staff.
