who says we cant play with the bigs??? up yours packer

Sweet!!!

Unfortunately, I don't think Packer gives a care about the NIT, but maybe secretly he's fuming that another one of his BCS brethren fell to the pitiful Valley! :D

Ain't revenge sweet?!

Hey, let's not downplay how good of a job Bradley does, beating fine opponents.
Perhaps we should give the Big East some respect.
At least they didn't have a bunch of trash talking posters who came to our board like the Kansas people did last year.
They are the Big East and have accounted for 2 of the last 4 National Champs, and 3 of the last 8.
They are a fine conference and this is a nice accomplishment.

Not to mention the fact that I thought Providence was a heckuva team... They were good and the came to play.

Interesting to note--the Big East still has 3 teams left in the NIT (DePaul, Syracuse, West Virginia). The SEC has 3 (Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Georgia). The ACC has 3 left as well (Clemson, Florida State, NC State). Two teams still in the mix for the Mountain West (San Diego State, Air Force). One school left from the following leagues:
MVC-Bradley
MAAC-Marist
Big 12-Kansas State
Big 10-Michigan
Atlantic 10-Massachusetts

While attendance hasn't been that good overall, the home team finished on the winning side in 13 of the 16 first round games. The three road winners included: Marist at Oklahoma State, North Carolina State at Drexel, and San Diego State at Missouri State. Five road teams played pretty well, but in the end faltered (Vermont, Providence, East Tennessee State, South Alabama, Alabama).

Here are the attendances of all the NIT games so far.
Bradley is in the top 3!

2031 (Fresno State at Georgia)
2499
2718
3114 (Utah State at Michigan)
3150
3295 (Toledo at Florida State)
4057 (Hofstra at DePaul)
4207
4234 (San Diego at Missouri State)
4696
5501
6458
7082 (Marist at Oklahoma State and Marist won)
8304 (Providence at Bradley)
8596 (Vermont at Kansas State)
16832 (South Alabama at Syracuse)

i wasnt trying to put providence down or downplay our accomplishments at all...i'm just trying to say that anyone who says we cant play with the "bigs" is full of crap. the "little east" thing was more of a joke

DePaul knocked off Hofstra 83-71, and drew only 4,056.

For the record, DePaul played the game at their on-campus McGrath Arena which holds 3,000 people for women's games.

The Allstate Arena was booked for Hockey (Wolves vs Rivermen, in fact)

The crowd of 3,114 at Michigan's Crisler arena was stated to be the smallest crowd for a bakstball game there in over 20 years.
The Michigan fan base has bailed on coach Tommy Amaker, and they want him fired, Michigan has not made the NCAA in 6 straight years.
When Amaker was asked about the crowd, here was his response.
Amaker said: "I don't know what the numbers are, nor do I care about them.''
But people do remember getting 10,000 even for NIT games, which is why tonight, if Michigan loses to Florida State, might be Amaker's last game at MU.
