Indiana State Recruit Opts Out of His LOI

Ashworth, the recruit backing out of his committment, is a borderline DI player. He might regret this decision.

The other 2, Clayton Vette, and Jordan Printy had great seasons and were impressive in their state tournament runs (Printy lead his team to the Iowa state championship). They should have no trouble getting other offers.

Interesting point with Clayton Vette-
he is a big 6'8" center-forward, and the other school that pursued him hardest was Bradley. I do not know if Bradley would have any current interest in reviving his recruitment--

Actually, both Printy and Vette's teams won state championships in Iowa.....Printy's in 4-A (largest schools) and Vette in 3-A. Drake had some interest in Vette, but backed off after getting a commitment from Wendell Faines, who was their #1 big-man target from day 1.

Having lived 20+ years in both Iowa and Illinois, I can tell you that winning an Iowa state championship is not quite the same as winning an Illinois state championship. I'm guessing that in most years, the best team in the state of Iowa couldn't make it out of an average sectional in Illinois.
 
Maybe, although I'd like to see some matchups some day.
It would be like comparing Class AA to Class A right here in IL, but some of the top Class A teams, like Seneca & IVC last year or M-F this year, routinely beat much bigger and supposedly better Class AA teams.

Probably not.....the Bulldogs signed a couple of guards in the fall, and their primary need with the last 2 scholarships is big men.

T.....not trying to be argumentative....but I'm guessing that there are more D-1 players from Class A schools in Illinois every year than in all of Iowa's classes put together. It's gotten slightly better, but I'm still extremely unimpressed by Iowa high school ball. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that no good players ever come out of Iowa, but it's in a whole different world from Illinois b-ball.
