UNC vs. Georgetown

this would be a good game if it wasn't being ruined by the really silly comments of Billy Packer.

North Carolina is a very good, young team, but Illinois native and McDonald's All american Bobby Frasor who was recruited the UNC and was said to be their PG of the future, doesn't get to take his warmups off.
It is obvious that even when freshman Ty Lawson is having an off-game (0-4 and zero points) that Roy Williams is still going only with Lawson.
Frasor probably would love to win an NCAA Championship, but I can't imagine he likes sitting on the bench while the team is doing just that.

Rumor from the Illini board is that he will transfer to Illinois after this season.

So FINALLY UIUC will get their man.

They need him with their guard situation. Now if they can just steal Osiris from ISU, they'd actually have some hope in a couple of years.

Frasor is not going anywhere ... book it.

Not questioning you '06, just wondering...do you know him or people close to him personally? I have always wondered if he would last 4 years at UNC.

Yes, I actually know him quite well and he won't leave. Frasor's a good kid and understands his role within the team.

Even if his playing time continues to diminish? I understand him wanting to play at the absolute highest level, but I would think playing time has to come into play at some point. I don't see him getting much from here on out at UNC. The walk-on is getting in before him at this point.

I assume you are talking about Miller. He will graduate this year so I don't see that being a problem. Also I think Miller played over Bobby for two reasons, first he is a better shooter, and second he is more experienced. Besides those factors and I'm not sure how much is known about this, but Bobby has been playing with an injured foot and around mid-December almost decided to pack it in and red shirt for this season. Obviously he didn't and stuck it out 'til the end of the season but he was playing with a lot of pain, and it was assumed that eventually if he kept playing his foot would break, but apparently it hasn't.

You make a good point about the playing time, and for some players that would be a huge problem, but I just don't see that being an issue. He's happy there, and the transfer rumors are garbage.

I don't think anyone is inferring he'd be a bad kid if he'd want to transfer. Lots of good kids transfer schools for a host of different reasons.

I can't say I'm that familiar with UNC...is Lawson a NBA early entry possibility? Too small?

Yeah the Trib. had an article on his season and his injuries a week ago I think.

I know, I was just saying, he's a good guy. As for Lawson, he's insanely fast but I think the size is a good point as to why teams would be shy to draft him. But it's not like he's going to get much/if any taller so maybe he'll test the waters.

Glad I could make your night MM. :D

Awww.... kinda jabbing at IlliBrave's quote after Kansas lost saying 'suck on that Billy'.

It's all fun and games and nobody can get their eye poked out on the interenet.

But seriously, any bad news for UIUC is good news to me.

Here's a summary of all the NCAA games and accomplishments
that have been forfeited because of cheating and recruiting violations.

1999 -- Ohio State makes the Final Four, but the visit has been officially expunged because of major recruiting violations.

1997 -- Minnesota makes the Final Four, but recognition was officially expunged because of major academic fraud to keep players eligible.
1996 -- Purdue's NCAA Tournament appearance and all 24 wins that season forfeited for recruiting violations.
1994 -- Northwestern. Well, they didn't actually win anything, but they were somehow involved in point shaving. Proving that some people will bet on anyone.
1992 and 1993-- Michigan has both of their Final Four visits officially expunged because of booster payoffs to the players. This all started coming out in 1996 after Robert Traylor's driving troubles and people noticed the ride he had.
1989 -- Illinois recruiting/payola scandal brought to light thanks to then Iowa Assistant Coach Bruce Pearl and a tape recorder. It resulted in a 1991 post-season ban.
