The lure of getting back to the Big East so he can demolish Cincinnati
and run the score up to 150 points against them......

Man I hope he does!

All the sudden, I feel kinda like rooting for WVU (along with Tennessee, Kansas, and some others).

First of all, anything that makes Illini fans mad - I like.

As for WVU and Huggins... well, I lived in Cincy for a while and I would like to see Huggy let 'em have it.

These articles report that 3 West Virginia players have already decided they are going to transfer.
The West Virginia message boards are speculating one of them is Devan Bawinkel.

Devan 'Ballhog' Bawinkel would be a good fit at a place like N Illinois.

I agree. I was never overly impressed by him. he was shut down by a freshman in his senior year in the playoffs. A very good freshman, but that should never happen to an all-state senior.

And yes, he never met a shot he didn't like.

I dont know who else is in the chicago area but Billy Fudgepacker was on Mike North this morning and he actually had a good point for once :-o He was saying how it isnt fair that these coaches can just up and go and coach right away after leaving a school that they were under contract to coach at and how it isnt fair for the players when they transfer they have to sit out a year, or how if they want out of their LOI they have to get a release from the university. I understand the problems that would arrise with transfers if there was no penalty but it just seemed like a good point. He went on to say that the only people that are actually held to their contracts in college sports are the athletes.

Now for his screw-ups...he didnt know about Gilespi going to Kentucky even though it is being reported all over ESPN and other sports media outlets. He even seemed to question whether Mike North knew what he was talking about...you'd think a guy like that would know before these things were even mentioned in the press. Seems like theres guys on this board that know things way before they happen. I guess that just shows that Da Coach and Tornado are far superior in every aspect of life when compared to Fudgepacker. 8)

Now that Huggins is gone, it looks like Kansas State is trying to keep as many players from leaving as they can, includin the super recruiting class Huggins had coming next year. They are considering Huggins' assistant Frank Martin as a replacement for Huggins..

Huggins is a sleaze. I can't imagine any institution who cared one ioda about academics hiring him. And that extends far beyond the fact that his players do not graduate, he's simply a jerk.

Whatever you think of Bob Huggins, it appears he'll never be lacking demand for his services.

In the meantime, Kansas State has elevated assistant coach Frank Martin to head coach.
There are already people pointing out concerns as to this hire, with Martin having some objectionable issues in the past.
(Including blatant, intentional cheating by listing phony addresses for the kids on his team so they could play for his school.)

All of the games won and championships Martin achieved at Miami Senior High School have been officially revoked by the FSHAA, and yet in his official bio, posted on the K-State web site, it says this:

"Martin returned to Miami Senior High School as head varsity coach in 1995 ... he posted a stellar 102-10 (.911) overall record and captured three consecutive Florida 6A State Championships (1996, 1997, 1998). Martin???‚¬?„?s last two squads compiled impressive 36-1 records and finished among the nation???‚¬?„?s top 5 in the USA Today Top 25 poll, including a program-best No. 2 following the 1997-98 season."

Of course, all of this completely ignores that fact that the official governing body of Florida high school sports has deemed all those games FORFEITS and has taken away those championships because of the blatant cheating described in the links above.

This only re-affirms the fact that K-State sold their soul to the devil when they hired Huggins.

Once you do that there is no turning back
