Sorry, I read that article differently. I see it as just another of the daily drivelling articles we see trashing the interent and message boards.
Sure they cite a single occasion when the internet was accurate, but almost mockingly as if it is a rare occurrence.
The real thrust of that article is to denigrate the opinions of people who post on the message boards, and to label them broadly as uninformed and "full of it".
I just don't get why the standard press is so frightened by the internet and the people who intelligently discuss things on the message boards.
Once in a while on some unmoderated forums you might get kooks, and Phil Luciano dragged out one or two examples, but how does that differ from what's said on TV or in the newspapers.
I don't judge all journalists by the way that Don Imus talks. And I don't trash Phil Luciano's right to speak his mind just because there are dishonest journalists who have been proven in the past to have made up and fabricated entire long articles and series' of columns.
Almost every day we are seeing the media screaming about the "sky is falling" in reference to the message boards.
It's almost funny, since most who post on the message boards take it about 1% as seriously as the big time media do!
