Great column in today's Journal-Star concerning Imus and his dumb remarks. It's on page D2 of the sports section.

What is even more impressive is that the author, Jason Whitlock, is a well known African-American sports writer. Good to see some different ideas, rather than so many people in lock-step with the Al Sharptons of the world.

I don't see this column on the PJ Star web site. It should be.

Here is a link to the article published originally last Wednesday (4/11/07) in the Kansas City Star--

Jason Whitlock's follow-up column after he received criticism from Al Sharpton and others for not keeping in line with them--

Interesting how Sharpton and Jesse have such glee trying to air out someone else's dirty laundry,
but will he respond now that the topic has switched to the dirty laundry of some of their own supporters.

Or their own....

Al Sharpton has the Tawana Brawley case that was a total fraud, yet he championed her case against certain white attackers that didn't exist.

And the numerous hypocrisies of Jesse Jackson ranging from his offensive hymietown remark to his mistresses and the young female staffer he had the affair with, got pregnant, paid off with hush money from the Operation Push coffers, and tried to hide from the media.

I hope the activists are happy!

All their railing against Imus and his eventual firing has helped drop CBS'
earnings by an enormous 6% in just this quarter, and the revenue from radio alone dropped 9%.

Maybe this is what they tried to do, to hurt Imus' employer and see if they could exert their influence.
But, guess who is actually hurt by this? The low end wage earners, as CBS will likely reduce hirings and even lay off.
And ultimately the entire economy suffers since CBS's stock market shares dropped as well.

Now Sharpton has had a meeting with the sheriff in LA concerning the Hilton release. He should have told Al to hit the road back to New York.

Looks like cowtowing to the politically correct crowd has really come back to haunt CBS.
They just posted their 2nd quarter earnings, and they are DOWN 48%! This is due to huge losses in their radio division, as their CBS TV is the top rated network.
The radio end of CBS took a huge hit since Imus' radio show was their flagship for selling advertising space.

The old geezers at CBS aren't so dumb, as they realize their bonehead move. I wouldn't be surprised if they find a way to get Imus back as soon as possible.
