Western Illinois changes conferences

It came down to that or The "Auriemma" conference.

Interestingly, the new logo of the conference is a Gargoyle looking down on a Firefighter who is chasing a squirrel that set fire to a clock. :-o
 
With all the bad/directional teams like Western, UMKC, and IUPUI, they should select a conference name that has some meaning and that gives a little hint of what this conference offers.

I suggest combining the names Mid-Con and Summit, and using the name
"SUM-CON" to denote the fact that anyone expecting decent basketball from these teams is getting conned. :-o

Or how about sticking with the term Mid-Con and try to add a bit to it that demonstrates how hard of a JOB it is to get decent players to go to these schools.
I suggest "CON-JOB" as a possible name. :roll:

My last suggestion is to take the names of a bunch of the teams in the conference with 200-300+ RPI and 200-300+ SOS and combine the names, so you come up with-
"IUPUI-SUU-WIU" and the logo can include a HOG CALLER yelling "poooey-soooey-weeeoo"

Or just an acronym of the schools in the conference

Southern Utah
Centenary
University of Oakland
Missouri-KC
Valpo
Oral Roberts
WIU
IUPUI

Comes to.........SCUMVOWI!
 
They should call it the leftovers league....That's what all of those schools are.....

IUPUI=Indiana University Purdue University at Indianapolis
UMKC= University of Missouri at Kansas City

Then some weird directional schools like WIU and Southern Utah, and that powerhouse new member South Dakota State.
