Bradley still has not released an official announcement, but the Brownsville, Texas Herald newspaper has a list of the teams that have been announced as participants in this year's South Padre Island Tournament.

Current teams scheduled include University of Iowa (Iowa City, Iowa), Vanderbilt University (Nashville, Tenn.), Bradley University (Peoria, Ill.), Austin Peay State University (Clarkesville, Tenn.), University of Valparaiso (Valparaiso, Ind.), University of Maryland Eastern Shore (Princess Anne, Md.) and Florida Gulf Coast University (Fort Myers, Fla.).

One team is pending and will be announced at a later date.

Then I checked MiamiHawkTalk and they are rumouring they are losing their spot in the SPI Tourney and going to California instead.

Wonder who the final team will be.

Seriously T?

So the 4 host teams are Iowa, Vandy, Bradley and who?

No, it is NOT serious.
Lubbock Christian is NOT in the South Padre tourney, I was just thinking wishfully for revenge!

Since Miami (OH) would have been the 4th host school, I presume they are looking for a replacement host, rather than "promoting" APSU or Valpo.

I see in Dave's note that BU may play Iowa first instead of Vandy. That will be an interesting game.

Also - I hope that BU will not have to play both of the lesser teams in MD-E. Shore and Florida Gulf Coast. Would be nicer to get Valpo or Austin Peay instead as the other 2 will definitely drag the RPI down.

I agree with you.

Where is the report suggesting BU plays Vandy 1st? I just wanna read it. Tks.

MM- It was purely speculation on the part of the Miami message board. Not sure why they thought they would be playing Iowa first.

Tks MDCowboy... and now with the Non-Con schedule officially released... I wonder who the "other" team is for the SPI Tourney.

Guess it could be good or bad... late in the process, maybe not so great... or late in the process, and get a sleeper.

Another option they could consider is to elevate Valparaiso to a "host team", and sign up another Maryland Eastern Shore-type.
