Very fun to read,, very well written.
I loved it........and anyone else who goes back more than 30-40 years with BU basketball can relate to it!

What a childhood. It makes a person almost envious of KW and the oppurtunities he had and the people that he got to meet even when young
 
Yeah a nice article, very enjoyable read! Also nice that an article in the PJS didn't try to demonize Bradley for expanding.
 
I will add one of my own little stories....and no intention of taking away from Kirk Wessler's fine piece.........

For three years while I was in college, a group of my friends and I rented the entire house directly across from the front door of the Fieldhouse, at 1607 W. Main.
We sold parking spaces behind our place on game night to generate some decent spending cash, then just at gametime went free to the games (all students were allowed in FREE if you had your student ID validated).
The Valley games were virtually all sellouts, and the place rocked, and I mean literally ROCKED as thousands of antimated fans cheered and stomped on those old rickety wooden stands.
Opponents like Louisville, Tulsa, Wichita, Cincinnati, etc. placed us right smack dab in the center of college basketball heaven.
Players like Joe Allen, Levern Tart, Al Smith, Cal Criddle, Steve Kuberski, LC Bowen, Davey Lundstrom, and some of my favorites- Randy Crady, Chuck Buescher, Dave Klobucher, Bobby Humbles, Roger Phegley, and more -- and opponents like Wes Unseld, Junior Bridgeman, Butch Beard, Paul Pressey --made the place seem like the REAL BIG TIME!

Thanks Kirk Wessler, you have brought back some fine memories.

Good point re: the emotion, that's not usually something that comes through in his pieces ... at least from the positive end.
 
I enjoyed KW's article on living around the FH. Brought back many memories. I was only 11 when the team moved down to the CC but can remember sitting in the stairs of the FH trying to watch the games! Spent many night selling the old red rally flags in the FH. The FH has a special place in my heart...I worked at the FH all through high school and college. I spent many a day and night working on my game in the FH, the benefits of having the keys to the building!
