Bears win 1st exhibition

The Bears looked pretty good in winning their first exhibition game last night. The offense and defense both looked strong.

The Bears won 20-19 on a field goal by Robbie Gould with 36 seconds left.

But typical of the local newspaper, they the story of the game all wrong. I have to wonder what game they were watching?

The front page of the sports section has the Headline:
Clutch kick boosts the Bears
Robbie Gould's 47-yarder with 2:23 to play caps 13-point rally for 20-19 win over Texans

The headline is different for the online version, but the article is the same. They report that the winning field goal came at 2:23 left.--

Don't they have any proof readers? How can they get the facts of the game so wrong?

I noticed that too. Anyone who watched the game would recall the final field goal came much closer to the end of the game.
The article is from the AP. Some lazy writer must have written it without bothering to consult the offical statistical report from the game. What a joke!
Didn't anyone at the PJ Star watch the game? That blunder is so obvious someone should have noticed it on their end.

I am glad to hear this was a mistake. When I read the headline today, I thought my memory was going bad.
